Pretty smooth update ... on my MS Store version PC updated via MS Store Get Updates first, then ran MSFS and it updated, then went to content manager and had 36 pending updates and updated all those.

For my Steam version on my other PC, Steam ran an update, launched MSFS after Steam update, MSFS updated, went to content manager and ran pending updates.

So far no issues, not sure what the thread about changing paths and doing a lot of extra work was about for this update?  Wasn't required on either of my MS Store or Steam installs ... but when I read stories about people setting core files are "read only" and virtualizing paths and other bizarre changes I guess those users probably should expect update problems.

Anyway, so far so good, now I need to test my product.

Cheers, Rob.

Yes Rob..I have never had issues with MSFS..Installed on a dedicated SSD.

Updated with no issues. Took about a half hour, including downloading updates from the in-sim content manager.

Update process is super easy.

DA40NG ground steering is all messed up for me.

On a quick test, it worked ok here for the NG version, but messed up for the TDI version. As if the nose wheel is completely stuck in the straight direction. The differential brakes can be used to exert some very limited control when taxiing slowly, and at higher speeds the rudder is sufficient for keeping her on track. But yeah, it's messed up.

My simming system: AMD Ryzen 5800X3D, 32GB RAM, RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB, LG 38" 3840x1600

All set for yesterdays sim update, but instead ended up rushed into hospital with pancreatitis.

Can we just praise the lord for one second for giving us the first sim update that doesn't introduce new major bugs or straight out crashes the game?

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

not yet been able to update, but to which path should I set the first update? I run Msfs community and official on separate ssd. msfs base on windows ssd

This is why we keep pushing for more beta testers.  In fact, we are asking for an "opt in" beta where anybody who owns MSFS can opt into the beta.

Provided Asobo/Microsoft isn't on an immovable deadline, such as SU5 because of the X-Box release, the beta testers can find a lot of major bugs and Asobo has enough time to fix these bugs before the update is released to the public.  If the beta testers find some major bugs that can't be fixed in time, Asobo/Microsoft can always push the update back, provided they aren't on an immovable deadline.

Probably about as painful as an msfs update.  Hope you're feeling better.

No, we cannot,😡 , not even for 1 second, becasue i could make a list a mile long that the "lord" could-should focus on fixing other than a flight sim. Did you blame your "Lord" for the CTD?...No, I bet you did not, but as alway you want to thank your "Lord" when something goes well. 🙄, he could spend that second removing cancer from a child, yer...your thinking..."O no he cannot intervene in them things!!! I hear!!!!, unless someone recovers then we are are back to "thank the lord".😡

Please keep Relgion out of it please, thank you.

Not tried MSFS SU6 but am happy to thank Asobo if its a good update.

I had zero issues with the MS Store version for the first year and then disaster - SU5 would not install.  Four days of research to find the cause (with much help from the community).  As I have a large library of games from Steam and never had a download issue, I changed to the steam version.  The initial MSFS SU6 updated before I opened Steam to check if the update was there.

I find your supercilious attitude to those having problems deplorable.  Either chip in with suggestions to help or stay quiet.

Have to say this update was a breeze compared to SU5. I did have a few issues - this was a new PC with a disk image from the old one to be fair. The 535Mb update installed fine. But at first I was just getting the Microsoft Store Game Centre window when I tried to start the sim. After reading some excellent advice on this forum: deleting then re-downloading Game Centre, it all started fine. ~8.3Gb in around an hour, then a 1.8Gb update from Marketplace.

Great news for me at least, older Marketplace airports no longer freeze on loading! Yay!  - after nearly 3 months waiting.
