November 4, 20214 yr Jummivana Senior Community Manager [Z-7] 1h Hello everyone, Due to some back-end scheduling conflicts, we will no longer have pre-release testing for Sim Update 7. We want these flights to be long enough in duration for you to test and provide feedback, and for the team in return to make meaningful updates based on your feedback. Unfortunately we won’t be able to make that happen this time around. We value the time and energy you put in for testing and want to offer the same in return during these flights. This group will be preserved for future flights, such as the Sim Update 8 flight we have planned soon. Thank you again for being willing to help us test, and we look forward to inviting you to the next flight! "Due to some back-end scheduling conflicts" I wonder what those conflicts might be? DX12 related VRAM issues? the beta would probably have been released today, leaving the usual 14 days test period until November 18 release date. since many SU6 beta testers have been complaining about beta SU6 deleting their MSFS Community folder, perhaps this is just as well 😀 Edited November 4, 20214 yr by turbomax AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler. 60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking. very nice.

November 4, 20214 yr #Facepalm absolute joke, like I said elsewhere they were too late in asking for testers for SU7 in the first place, so this actually doesn't surprise me. Such schoolboy errors time and time again relating to beta testing, too many chefs is the issue I think, no one person in charge to sort the mess out...get Gordon Ramsay in there! November 4, 20214 yr I wonder if they even had enough testers to make it worth it. I know that in the past, when they asked for beta testers, if you didn't get in there right away, all the slots were very quickly taken. I noticed that in the last two tests, slots were still open days later, and I wondered what that said about the enthusiasm, or lack of same, of potential beta testers. This was compounded, by asking for only so-called professionals for this particular beta test. That made me curious about exactly how many people they would draw in by restricting the pool of applicants in that way. Edited November 4, 20214 yr by HiFlyer We are all connected..... To outsiders, this project has all the appearances of not having a decent project manager to coordinate all the teams involved (Asobo, Bing, Azure, production, marketing, sales, PR, etc.). Bright people of good will are of course needed but a SOB at the head is not superfluous. November 4, 20214 yr The cancellation also potentially means that the first sight any third party devs get off the code will be when we app download the release version. For a release that's meant to include a lot of new functionality that's not good.
November 4, 20214 yr The worst part about this is that it is setting people off with worry again (including me), in case there are not enough testers to spot any game breaking bugs. Backend schedule to me means they are tight on time to integrate all of the inclusions into the sim from the different teams; possible the GOTY items -the different aircraft etc. My thoughts are that they should delay any update release until fully tested, as I don't want them to disrupt what we have now, which is pretty good! I think they will be under pressure to release though, due to the expected revenue from the Reno pack. Edited November 4, 20214 yr by bobcat999 Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).
