November 28, 20214 yr Administrators I took it! Was looking for sex instead of gender where I normally mark "Occasionally" 🙄 OK, Ray...no more on this one survey question. November 28, 20214 yr I would have rather replied to questions about user sentiment; such as the rapid decline in developer support for P3D V5. For example, would you continue to support a developer who abandoned whatever product you like to use in order to sell a new kid on the block version. Gary Stewart
November 28, 20214 yr It seemed like their list of developers to select from was very small and excluded most of the smaller devs. And they included FlightSimStore for places of purchase which I thought has been out of business for some years now.
November 28, 20214 yr I'm sure the question about what developmental software were looking forward to this year was the PMDG 737 or the Fenix A320 for MSFS2020. I bet Ray put down the Concord from FSLabs for P3D. 😄 Dan i9-13900K / Asus Maximus Hero Z790 / RTX 4090 FE / G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB 64 GB DDR5-6400 CL32 / Artic Liquid Freezer II 360 / Samsung 980 PRO SSD 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 / Samsung 980 PRO SSD 2TB PCIe NVMe M.2 / Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD 2TB PCIe NVMe M.2 / EVGA 1000W G3, 80+ Gold / Phanteks Eclipse P600S ATX Mid Tower / Arctic P14 PWM Case Fans / LG C2 42 Inch Class 4K OLED TV/Monitor / Windows 11 Pro / 1Ghz AT&T Fiber
November 28, 20214 yr IMO, the purpose of this survey is to provide payware developers with information they can use for their marketing. That's why they ask questions about gender and income. It does have a secondary benefit in that it provides a way for consumers to make developers aware of the kind of products they want. A bit slanted in Navigraph's direction so to speak. BTW, I am a Navigraph user. Yep, I noticed this too. I wrote in "Garmin"... and I'll not look forward to this survey in the future. Really has little to do with the flight simming hobby (despite what Navigraph would have people believe). And what is with the some of the business entities in the hobby dissing Reality XP? RXP offers strong products, fair prices, and good support, yet MS seems to be ignoring RXP and clearly Navigraph doesn't care. Good third party developers should be embraced by the business of flight simming.
November 28, 20214 yr Bit difficult to use software from Fenix when it's not even released yet I'd say 😉. Also, what were hot towels and under-seat life jacket all about? Was that a joke?

November 29, 20214 yr @fppilot @lowslo Thank you for your warm support! It seems the list of vendors was "selected" from a pool of vendors being in contact with Navigraph to "sponsor" the survey. Unfortunately I've missed it entirely and we were just not contacted. I don't remember much press coverage before the survey for anything calling out to 3rd party vendors, as a reminder the survey will start soon for example, and this honestly makes me feel like I've been in a cave lately because the Navigraph survey just came out of the blue to me. I'm not sure the 2021 survey is covering as much the simmers population as the ones before, because I find some questions highly geared toward certain vendors, and some other questions that used to cover some other metrics more applicable to our hobby at large, which are no longer there (didn't compare 1:1 but this is the impression I'm left with). In any case, this will bring some interesting metrics I'm sure, let's hope the questions are not too dissimilar from previous editions so that we can also see trends over the years. Keep in mind this is also the Navigraph survey, not the Simmers survey. Therefore it is expected and normal the survey is serving Navigraph's interests first, after all, they are doing the work! Thank you Navigraph for taking this on your shoulder and sharing it with the community!
November 30, 20214 yr I noticed the ORBX forum was missing among fora. It probably doesn't play the rule it did once, given ORBX managed to reform it to a more or less pure support forum (which I regret).
