And the capture of IAS is sloppy too.

Because the developer is too stubborn to address HIS code and keeps blaming PMS and TDS

The 414 has indicated airspeed capture?

someone here said a while ago:

"However being a flight-simulation product the important bit how it flies. And unfortunately the overwhelming feeling is: not well. Sure, it was their first release and perhaps the SDK was just too limiting or they misunderstood aspects of it etc, etc."

oh sorry, he was talking about Carenado 😊

IAS works perfect if you pitch and trim to the Blue line, then engage the AP and then engage IAS, works perfect. AP then IAS then NAV/HDG.

IAS = 112/114 within 1,000 to cruise I go VS and set +500

IAS works perfect for me (PMS50) also. My technique is when established in the climb, I hit VS and dial up about a 1100fpm climb, then engage autopilot. Let the aircraft stabilize on the vertical speed and I let the speed slowly increase to 130 knots (personnel preference) then I hit IAS mode.

IAS takes me to my cruise altitude without any chance of stalling the aircraft which could happen if you just use VS mode. Having never flown a 414 irl, this could be wrong but seems to work for me.

Seems fine to me.  The owner usually does 140 kias at 35 / 2500 - that's a cruise climb which yields around 1000-1500 fpm depending on weight.

I think you're doing it the right way...I mean, in general, to avoid stalling in a climb.

@ryanbatc is that 35 MAP?   I've been using 31 but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I still cant get this download to work, keeps saying file corrupted. Someone mentioned using a VPN and I've tried that with no luck.

Tried using Chrome and Microsoft Edge no luck either..

Any other suggestions?

Cheers

Their site was having issues earlier this evening (4/19) but it seems ok now.  Probably a good sign that there was so much traffic between downloading and validations that it slowed down/ halted for a while.

Just tried again, and still getting a failed download at the 5 minute mark.. which is around 1 GB down, and .15 GB to go..

Not impressed!

Yes, it's the IAS button on the autopilot. It works, but only after some pretty wild gyrations that would have your passengers losing their lunch.

Been running just fine using the normal method of setting my throttle and prop for climb, trimming the aircraft to maintain the desired speed then engage. You have to aviate yourself first....
