What kind of cruise speeds are you seeing? 240-250 at 12,000? I’ll be coming into KTEX later from the west, currently at KGCN. Doing FSE assignments in the Kodiak. Nismo, on that flight to KTEX, I was at 20,500 ft and averaging about 160-165 KIAS (not sure what my ground speed was; next time I will pay better attention 😉 ). I see plenty of others have given their input to your question as well. April 20, 20224 yr Thanks guys! So give or take 220 on the high end. That’s fine. FSE shows cruise at 240 which is where I probably came up with the number. Plane is looking good. Is it ready to buy now? Are most issues getting sorted? I can be patient for this one. On Beta release there seemed to be a bunch of issues, most seem to be progressing well, from reading this thread.

The plane is well worth the money, so long as you don't mind hand flying an ILS approach if that is how your flight ends--the Devs still haven't addressed the issue of the AP being able to capture an ILS if GPS mode was previously selected (in other words, if you conduct the entire flight in HDG mode, the autopilot will couple the ILS just fine). Edit: I'm using the payware PMS GTN750. I think it's possible that the NXi GTN actually works with ILS coupling. April 20, 20224 yr The 414 is easily the best payware plane available right now IMO. Ron Hamilton "95% is half the truth, but most of it is lies, but if you read half of what is written, you'll be okay." __ Honey Boo Boo's Mom

That was with the TDS GTN750's, so I think that you are on to something there. I flew the route coupled to the GPS and once at the FAF I switched to VOR #1 on the ILS frequency. Bill Bill N7IBG

I have been taught that you should switch from NAV to HDG mode, switch the GPS to VLOC mode, and verify GS indicator active, before turning to APR mode. ie not NAV to APR directly. Does that solve this particular issue? Bert
April 21, 20224 yr My issue with the VS wheel has been fixed with 1.6.2 - 1. The right prop frozen Fresnel effect that was fixed in Beta 1.6 is now actually fixed. 2. The GFC600 VS pitch wheel would not tune up is now fixed. 3. Navomatic 800 autopilot would disable the HDG mode when the NAV mode was pressed. 4. For the few testers that tested the beta 1.6.1 hotfix i now have the left wing visibility back and the slow prop effect back. Now all I have to do is download the installer. I'm currently on attempt number 3. (Attempt number 6 was successful) Edited April 21, 20224 yr by 6297J

April 21, 20224 yr If you follow the discord you will see how responsive those fellows are. They have already fixed the VS issue. Great bunch of guys and I am thrilled with this plane. Only plane I fly at the moment.

April 21, 20224 yr I think they stated they can wait and send a patch out every 3 weeks like other devs, they choose to pump them out really fast which I like (impatient). I fly only in VR and this plane is fantastic. I wish everyone could experience this plane in VR, it is breathtaking. Almost everything works for me and I really enjoy my flights. Here is a link for youtube that I made. A quick slideshow showcasing the 414 Edited April 21, 20224 yr by lancealotg

Hmmm, if Carenado released an open Beta of a product with the aspirations this one has and clearly labelled it as such from even before it was available then it might just be fair to compare them.
April 21, 20224 yr apparently they are in process of changing webhost and server, I don't think it has completely migrated across internet yet, website (for me) is not operable yet. ** Apology being offered - upon further investigation, turns out my stored web address had become corrupted, I was obtaining un-formatted html. I used a two week old link stored in Browsing History and the Flysimware page came up correct, new version download came in at 6.8 megs per second. I've even tried turning off the AP and FD for a minute, hoping that would reset it, but after switching it back on, it still can't capture the ILS signal. :o( Edited April 21, 20224 yr by Boeing_Driver https://www.mediafire.com/view/dz3buh31pti9cej/BoeingDriverSignature.jpg/file
