I guess I feel a little better after venting but just posting this as a warning to others.  If I would have known this I would have passed on this airplane.

Currently the Flysimware (FSW) server is down for maintenance. Hopefully will be up in a few hours. 

The other issue is the large response to the C414 has surprised FSW (a single person company) and overwhelmed the existing server. FSW has now signed up for a dedicated server, but it will take some time.  So in the meantime, by contacting FSW through his website you can get an alternative download link. Yes, there certainly has been some aggravating issues, both for customers and FSW alike. But I think those who have purchased FSW aircraft in the past will tell you it is a customer oriented company.

I do understand the frustration. I decided to reinstall the C414 today and after deleting the current install discovered I could not reinstall because of the server being down.

I had the same problem with the server a few days ago.  Do not let that frustrate you.  I'll say it this way -- Flysimware's stuff is very good, and I didn't buy Flysimware for their server, I bought Flysimware for the plane.   Anyway, I was able to download it a few hours later...I assume the server traffic calmed down by then.

I think the server being overwhelmed is a good thing, it shows a lot of interest in the C414 and it is well-deserved.

Tonight I shot an ILS approach to test ILS capture (rwy 30 at Visalia, California KVIS).  It did work (I was using the TDS GTNxi).  I got vectored for an intercept, so switched to VLOC on the unit and HDG on the autopilot.  She flew on in and when I was in the feather I hit APR on the autopilot and the plane captured the localizer, and GS was armed in the AP display.  I was level at 1900 ft MSL, a bit underneath the descent path.  Once I passed the final approach fix the plane captured GS.  In the GS on the way down, any time I noticed a little drop I gave it a bit of throttle, to help it.  

It seems a little uneasy in GS at the present time, but better than it was.   It also still seems floaty to me, despite the increase drag with the latest beta flight model.

Thought about purchasing this a/c this weekend but FSW's website has been down for hours.

They had a huge server upgrade/update so it should be back in about 4-6 hours

When this officially releases I’ll most likely buy it day 1, but there are still too many issues it seems, including with the website so even downloading it can be a process like cbreeze is experiencing. So if everyone is still loving it on release, and the AP/GS issues get sorted and drag is finally set properly, I’m all in! I guarantee I will not get it directly, so Orbx, Just Flight or SimMarket will be where I pick this up.

Ah that explains the issues i have had all day. I stupidly deleted the old version before updating this morning, but could not get past the main screen, even that took a minute to load. But i could not get access to my account either for the Autho code. I'll try again later.

I'd say a bug - but it might have had a purpose.

Just tried downloading my 414 purchase from Flysimware.  Still down.

😎 there may be some logic to this, tbh (i.e server errors)

Flysimware has completed the transition to a new dedicated high speed server, so while a few new server start-up bugs may crop up, in general you should not have a problem downloading from the Flysimware store or website. As a test I tried downloading the C414 installer from the FSW store and it took less than one minute. Of course this also depends on your local internet service speeds.

About a 5 minute download for me 1.1 gig.

Will download again after the Monday release.
