May 8, 20224 yr The only slight concern i have with the Fenix is we have seen virtuallly nothing other than a video and pictures displaying certain functions, and certain folk (Likely on the beta) singing it's praises . What i would like to see very soon more in depth (Streams from actual pilots if possible.) displaying exactly what we will be getting with this aircraft. Not that i am saying it wont be all singing and dancing, but we do need to see it in the flesh, which will hopefully start soon. I would agree, defo buying the 737 but need to be convinced on the Fenix plus the FBW is pretty awesome for free and is updated constantly. Thomas Derbyshire

Works great, since you never arm spoilers AND click toga. Also it "feels" good, a bit "heavier" and "more important" than the other switches on the throttle. EDIT: More precise position: When you see the red switch on the throttle, go upwards two switches, and there it is, below the black coolie hat. Moving it forward into the "detent" arms spoilers for me, moving it backwards is TOGA for me. I think we're using different things. I have the TCA Airbus quadrant. I might use the red buttons on the sides for a Boeing TOGA switch. The last two weeks I have been flying the FBW and I was shocked how good it is, but it’s no FSL. It’s nothing to do with failures, the remark some people say is “am not interested in failures” good because the FSL or the Fenix aren’t about failures there about bringing a level very few can. The FBW is great and imo better than Aerosoft bus was, if you like it and want to really feel how a A320 is then your in for a treat. If the leave of the FBW is enough then, don’t bother. Try a 700. I really want the Fenix because I have been lusting after the FSL bus for years now. If FSL hadn't pulled that goofy DRM stunt that they did, I surely would have been a customer of theirs. I've been angry at them for years over that. I was thrilled to see that there will be an alternative high fidelity version of an Airbus in MSFS that is not associated with FSL. For the 1st time in years, I feel that there is a viable path for me to get a high fidelity Airbus on my system. The problem is that the FBW seems to be filling that role just fine for me at the moment, and I'm wondering if I really need to get the Fenix at all. I'm sure that I will, because this is my (indoor) hobby and there is nothing to stop me. I can afford it and I am curious, so yeah... I'm sure I'll end up buying it. And yes, the 700 does feel free for me, too. Getting it and the 800 for only $45 or so is fantastic. When I first saw that deal on the NGXu, I kinda thought Randazzo had lost his mind. Think about it. He basically said, "We spent a bunch of time updating this product to a newer version, and oops! the platform is going to die soon (keeping in mind that they knew what was coming - more so than we did at the time). To make up for that, we're going to give you the next product (that we will also have to invest a lot of time in) for free, while you enjoy the fruits of our past labor for $90 until this platform dies.". So, I pay them $90 to cover wages, expenses, real estate, and utilities incurred in 2017 through 2019, and I get a second product in 2022 for free (which does nothing to help pay the wages, expenses, real estate, and utilities incurred in 2020 through 2022) while the new product is being developed? I may be crazy, but I am not stupid. I could find no logical reason to not take them up on that offer for the NGXu in 2018 and here we are. We can get the 700 and call it quits. I don't have to own the 800. I flew RW airline 737-700 flights in 737-800s in P3D all the time, so I could certainly be happy flying 800 flights in the 700 in MSFS. And I think $50 for either the 600 or 900 version is a bargain. Those are Carnado level prices. If I ever need one of them, I'll be more than happy to pay that. In the US, SW developers get paid north of $65-$70 per hour. $50 covers 45 minutes of work, and 1 gov't mandated 15 minute break. i9-10850K, ASUS TUF GAMING Z490-PLUS (WI-FI), 32GB G.SKILL DDR4-3603 / PC4-28800, GIGABYTE RTX5080 16GB WF OC 3 FAN running 3440x1440
May 8, 20224 yr Not into tubeliners or high altitude flying any more. Love flying GA at sub 10,000 feet looking at the great scenery all over the world.
May 8, 20224 yr The PMDG -700 is going to be a freebie for me so I'm sure I'll get the Fenix offering too.

Both very significant and long-awaited aircraft for the sim, so it's both for me. Agree that the FBW airbus is a decent choice in lieu of Fenix, it's an amazing product, not just for freeware but also by payware standards. May 8, 20224 yr Likely both but I'm not sure yet. I'll wait for the Fenix 320 and then use my NGXu credits to get the -800 for "free" in August.

May 8, 20224 yr 737-700 is pretty much a done deal. The A320 is a maybe, depending on pricing and marketplace reaction since we already have a very good bus option available. May 8, 20224 yr I will be purchasing both. I only flew the PMDG -700 series (I think I bought their very first version of it back in FS) so that works for me and I know exactly what I am getting. I only occasionally flew the -800 and never flew the -900 so doubt I will get any of the other variants. Oddly, none of us have seen a clip of the Fenix in action but so many are ready to buy it (including me). Kind of strange considering it is an unknown developer and something that has been quite elusive... Especially if you like to fly at specific parts of the world. Post MSFS it was a completely different picture due to the immense improvement scenery-wise and the lack of high fidelity tubeliner. Now it'll be best of both worlds. It's also nice to see realistic landscapes on approach with a 737. 😉 Happy with MSFS 🙂 home simming evolved
May 8, 20224 yr Hi, My preference goes for the Fenix. I think that it will set a new standard regarding high fidelity addon just like Majestic or FSL did. I think it is will bring some great innovation not yet seen on a consumer sim. Above PMDG level I guess. Pierre
