May 25, 20224 yr I have both the PMDG B737-700 and the Fenix A320-200 for MSFS and I am very happy with both of them. Not sure if I will be interested in the 737-800 or not yet. If it was released next week, than I could easily say NO. But, months from now or a year, than maybe? We shall see. AMD Ryzen 9900X3D & ASUS X870E Gaming Plus MB, w/64 Gb GSkill DDR5 RAM, PNY RTX 5090 GPU, lots of SSD's and M.2 drives, HAVN Case, Virpil VPC Panels 2 and 3, Virpil Constellation Alpha Stick, Virpil Rotor TCS Plus w/ Hawk-60 Collective grip, TM TCA Yoke Boeing Edition, TM HOTAS A-10 and F/A-18 Sticks and TM TPR Rudder pedals. Currently on Win11
May 25, 20224 yr Got the 700... will gladly take all the coming free features over the next 2-3 months... like the BBJ much more than I thought I would, especially its semi-long haul capabilities... will now likely skip the 800/900 and just hope the 777 and 747 come soon, as they're what I really want... and they'll arrive with all the new features by then too when Asobo would've cleared all the remaining WASM/C++ limitations. May 25, 20224 yr I was always going to be a first day purchaser of the 700 but I realize I am having far too much fun in GA. I have the Milviz 310 and will get the Flysimware 414 soon. I am very much waiting for the freeware Phenom 300 and the proposed Challenger (I think), and will get those before I satisfy a craving for Boeing. Until then I have the freeware and very good FBW airbus and even that I do not fly very often. This is a remarkable turnaround for me as I loved and flew almost exclusively the Ifly 737 and 747 in P3D and FS2004. Amazing what a reasonable scenery can do. Regards Tony Tony Chilcott. My System. May 25, 20224 yr Purchased the 700 on day one, loving it at the moment. Might get the 800, although in no particular rush for that. More interested in the 777 or Max. In the interim looking forward to the HondaJet..... G Gary Davies aka "Gazzareth" Simming since 747 on the Acorn Electron
May 25, 20224 yr I will likely get the 800 at some point, but as others have said I am not in a hurry for it. I will certainly wait until the new LNAV, EFB, updated cabin, etc. are complete. Until then the 700 in its current form and the FENIX will keep me plenty busy. MSFS 2024. May 25, 20224 yr The -700 is so capable that I'm really unsure about the -800 and -900... and I say this as someone who is very impressed with what PMDG has done with the 737 family. I'll grab the Max for sure... it might be nice to have a -900ER too. But there really is not much difference between a -700 and a -800, and where there are differences, the -700 is the more capable aircraft. Andrew Crowley

Indeed it is, Max I believe is it his name. It was actually an FS9 video being the “end of an era.” Still my favorite sim video of all time due to the music and composition of it. I believe he also did one called “Pilots of the Caribbean” with musical scoring from the Pirates movies a some voice over of Capt Sparrow. Is this the one below you’re talking about? @flyhalf It would be cool to see you do another one like that. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

I really like the Fenix , and that is now my go to Airliner from now on. Hi. Have not posted regularly here in a long while! As a long time simmer since the FS 2004 days, and now with MSFS since day one- Flying nothing but the FBW since day one, Flying nothing but the Zibo 737- up until MSFS was released, Flying nothing but the PMDG in FSX/P3D since.... Well, you get the point LOL! Anyway, concerning the PMDG 737 for MSFS2020. I was not as excited, not anticipating this aircraft, and watching youtubers streaming the preview of it in low quality didn't do it any favors, nor justice. But since it was released, and reasonably priced. I thought I'd give it a shot. I was really missing the Zibo 737 anyway- one of my regrets leaving XP11 behind. That is no longer a problem. PMDG really knocked it out of the park with it this time IMO. The textures inside and out of the cockpit are beautiful! The performance in the sim is amazing! If anyone recalls, the biggest gripe we all had back in the FSX/P3D days was how much of a frame hog this bird was in the sim. Now in MSFS 2020 it is the exact opposite! It outperforms, both the FBW Neo, and the Fenix A320, as far as sim performance is concerned. I have the Fenix as well, also a good product- although not crazy about the worn out cockpit theme they've gone with. I have been away from a Boeing for so long, that I had to refamiliarize myself if-you-will, as I've been on the Airbus consistently since MSFS was released. Had this not been such a great performing, and beautiful bird, I don't think I would have the patience to do so. The 737 in P3D or FSX is Not the 737 in MSFS sim performance-wise. And that's a good thing! No regrets here, it really surprised me! The price is more than worth it, and if anyone recalls the base package for this plane was the same as it was back in 2012! I've done about 8 short-haul 2 hours or less simbrief loaded flightplans with it and it is rock solid IMO. Barring any performance issues with the sim itself, as many folks are having, I don't see why anyone would regret getting this bird. Just my .02. Cheers. I can't do that kind of stuff any more, I mean look at the quality of these YouToobers out there now and what they do. I went into scenery design after that (did 4 sceneries). But again, you can't compete now, even the freeware out there is stunning. Then P3D came along and I took a long break to start a family. Back again with a new itch now so I'll be lurking around following things. Interesting scene now. May 25, 20224 yr I have not yet bought any HQ airliner for MSFS, because I'm still using them with pleasure in another simulator. The PMDG 737-800 will be my first for MSFS and I will buy it as soon as it arrives. - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).
May 25, 20224 yr Not holding out - I got the 737-700 via the credit and did buy the Fenix A320. I like being able to fly various different aircraft but I will be getting the 737-800 mainly due to how many operators fly it. May 25, 20224 yr Got the 737-700 and the Fenix A320, interested on an A319 if it ever comes, but definitely not the 737-800, it looks ugly to me, too long for the height.
