Hi,

Since I don't like flying the fenix on my 27" monitor. Font size is too small, so I need to zoom it closely, but when I do that I am missing quite a bit of the world outside, which is annoying while approch/landing.

What monitor size is best to getting rid of this issue? 32" or 34" and which ratio 21:9 or 16:9? I think 16:9 would solve the problem because it more streched in the heigh than leight, but would a 34" 21:9 would do the same job? What is the overall best experience?

I use a 32" Acer Predator monitor with a Trackir head tracking device on the top rail. Has worked for me since FSX and I am still enjoying that combo. 

I use a 65" 4K TV in Gamemode, but I have in switched in Windows to 21:9 Ratio and the same in MSFS. It has black fields on top and below therefore, but I want the widescreen ratio.

32" sounds rather small to me, although I reckon not everybody has enough space for a large screen.

If you are looking for bigger fonts, I would stay with a 16:9 ratio monitor but with the same resolution as what you have on your 27". For comparison, I have both a 34" 21:9 monitor and a 27" 16:9 monitor side by side (both 1440p) and the screen height is identical for both. This means that the font size on my 34" monitor is not larger than my 27" monitor. They are the same size.

I do the same thing with Track IR, need close up on panel, move head closer like in real life.

I got a 32" Dell Monitor 16:9 ration and has been fine with me.  All depends how much room you are talking about.t.

I have a 43 inch 4K TV 16:9 and find that the sweet spot, I did try a 55 inch 1080P LED TV for size before I settled on my current TV but it wasn’t a comfortable experience, just too big for me.

I spent yesterday scoping out for a new monitor, so have an opinion in mind. In other words I'm sort of spent yesterday wondering and doing the same as the OP. 

A ratio wider than 16x9 will not make the numbers bigger. I would stay with 16x9 ratio unless you just want to see more in the same view.

The biggest screen among popular 16x9 monitors that I found yesterday was 38.5" (they call it a '40'). It's a 1400p 16x9 monitor.

It is about $100 cheaper on Amazon than elsewhere. Its $630 on Newegg for instance.

typical 32" 16x9 is 28.5" wide x 17" tall   

Sceptre '40' 16x9 is 34.6"x 20.2"

But a 32" monitor is still much bigger than a 27" for sure.

And a 32" 1440p will have clearer images (pixels per square inch) than a 38.5" 1400p. But on the other hand the bigger screen will have larger images. 

I  am thinking of going with a 32" 1440p for a clearer image. I'm down to these two:

Dell 3415 34” ultra sharp. 34xx  X  14xx res.  Had it for 5+ years. XP11, P3d, MSFS…..works well on them all. 

Since I changed my 16:9 / 2K / 27" with a 21:9 / WQHD / 34" I am enjoying a full cockpit view + some lateral view of the scenery, whereas before it was always a compromise between cockpit and outside view.

The 3440x1440 resolution is adequate and not as taxing as 4K.

I never tried a 32:9 49" such as the Samsung G9, I guess it's spectacular and the closest thing to having 3 monitors.  

In my opinion ultrawide is the way to go.

I’d look into the LG OLED 42” if budget and space allows for it. OLED for the exceptional image quality, with both Freesync, G-Sync, 120Hz, 4K and HDR. With Dolby Vision and Atmos it’s also great for watching movies 🍿

I've used a 34" 21:9 curved Dell for many years now and love both the curve, and the ultra wide display, at 3440x1440.  To me this aspect ratio and curve matches sitting in a plane cockpit better than a flat screen just think about it, requiring you to turn your head to see both lateral extremes, and so forth.  Here's an important consideration for all of those folks nudging towards looking at very big displays:  you get literally nothing more from this because you simply have to sit farther away from it the larger it is.  If you sit closer, pixel pitch comes into play on giant screens.  If you need to sit farther away for ergonomic reasons that's a different story of course.  So ideally you want smallest pixel pitch from a viewing distance you're going to be at.  I'm at 24-30" from eyes to screen w/ my 34" display.

38 inch widescreen is a nice size as well.  Also a 40-43 inch 4K TV works well.

I prefer the 21:9 format. It gives a little more peripheral vision without turning your head. This especially helps during the flare and improves overall immersion IMO. I do use Track IR as well. 

Can someone recommend a Gsync compatible TV? I see the Thin IQ series is Gsync. I have a 3080 going to pair it to.
