April 25, 20233 yr Anyone had success with setting up throttles? I don't get the axis assignment, and there seems to be no manual P.S.: they posted a throttle setup at https://forums.flightsimulator.com/uploads/short-url/kWkvfJaXpEEZvdWLxeejXvozrwv.pdf Edited April 25, 20233 yr by qqwertzde

April 25, 20233 yr I think many of the inquiries here & on the MSFS forum would have not needed to be posted had they released a basic User Manual day 1 so that people unfamiliar with the ATR could have had an easier time getting to grips with it. I have a few things to sort out that I feel should have been covered in a Manual to save me trawling through YT videos looking for the answers. T45

The developer of ATR is S&H Software (Hans Hartmann) and it is published by Microsoft. This can be seen quite clearly on Microsoft Marketplace, where aircrafts developed directly by Asobo (Aviat Husky, Top Rudder Solo) are labeled as such and are separated from aircrafts developed by third parties (iniBuilds, ATSimulations, Carenado) and released by Microsoft. A fair point. I didn't mean to say that Asobo was the dev, but my post does read that way, sorry. What I meant was, Asobo billed this aircraft as "expert level" in their promotional run-up to WU13, and that seems to have been an overstatement. That said, I'm hearing the plane has promise, perhaps with a few tweaks and some polishing, and it'll be really nice to have a usable turboprop airliner in MSFS. I'd still like to see Majestic get their Q into the sim, but this is at least a start on what's been a really underrepresented segment of aviation in the sim so far. Andrew Crowley
April 26, 20233 yr So, how does the payload tab on the tablet work? I'm getting all green dashes, and nothing is clickable or settable.

April 26, 20233 yr I have everything setup for flight but stuck because I can’t get my nose steering to work. Yes I enabled the nose steering switch. My nose wheel steering axis is set to us my Z-axis on my joystick. When I move the z-axis left right I can see it moving in controller settings but when I'm taxiing the nose refuses to turn. Even tried my rudder it wont turn the nose gear so I’m stuck going straight line. Eric Thornton
April 26, 20233 yr Flaps work without hydraulic power. I guess the answer to “what does expert series mean” is aerosoft crj quality and depth. In other words, they’ve simulated buttons to press and corresponding screen displays, but haven’t simulated the underlying processes. While this aircraft is a steal at the current price point, I’m hoping Milviz/Blackbird reconsider continuing with their own ATR rendition. Oh, and what’s with all these planes having horribly muted sounds, especially bass tones. The prop sounds are terribly weak, especially as compared to the Majestic. I really don't get some people...TWELVE DOLLARS AND NINETY NINE CENTS!!! I think most people are a bit disappointed in Asobo claiming this is an expert level plane when first impressions appear to be that it's not. Imagine if I marketed a new plane as "study level" but then it wasn't anything close to that. If I release it @ $10, would that make everything ok? Maybe, but at the very least it leaves a sour taste in the mouth. Anyway. I'll give it a few weeks before I make my mind up. As someone else mentioned; hard to know at this stage what is buggy and what is user error. For what it's worth, on the official forums an ATR pilot listed a very long list of inaccuracies (most of which many casual pilots probably won't care about, but it goes to show it might not really be expert level).

Back in 1990 did Bob Hoover have a hand in designing this thing? For the price it’s unbeatable…if you’re a third party developer. I really think Microsoft should stay out of the plane-making business and simply enjoy their cut from the market place. Fenix, PMDG, SWS, Milviz, etc have shown what can be done with Asobo’s creation. This thing, like the freebie DC3, is simply sub-standard.
