April 26, 20233 yr Well bought it and I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. I've never flown an ATR, nor have I ever flown on one that I can recall (I used to drink ALOT), but this thing is quite believable. I figured for 14 bucks (12.99 + tax) if I like it great and if not no big loss. Best word not allowed $14 I've ever spent - I'll get hours of enjoyment out of learning the systems and it has some really unique features/functions that are different from say the PMDG 737, but fun to learn. On my meager system the synthetic vision and terrain displays result in a bit of a drop in fps, but I suspect a more robust CPU would solve that problem. I would say overall better than the CRJ, and less than a third the cost...is it PMDG grade - don't know yet but it certainly has the potential. At $20 it would still be a steal! i7-6700k • Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD5 • 32GB DDR4 2666 • EVGA FTW ULTRA RTX3080 12GB
April 26, 20233 yr It s a typical Hans Hartmann, not perfect but much character. Hans allways needs ages to fiinish a project. Maybe Asobo took it away too early - if they had left it to Hans only 5 years longer, it would have been much better :-) I like it - also without working circuit breakers. Same here. One FMC is locked on the Frequencies and the other Weight. Really disappointing. Was hoping this would at least be up there with the old Flight1 ATR72-500...but so far it's buggier. Glad I only paid $13. Edited April 26, 20233 yr by MNORM

April 26, 20233 yr Cheap though the ATR is, I think I might put the money towards the AzurPoly Transall, due out possibly this week. A different beast, but maybe less disappointing. https://azurpolygroup.com/c-160-transall/ Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org

April 26, 20233 yr Two of the handcrafted airports added in the world update, NTTB and NTTM have Friday ATR flights between them, the ATR even comes with Air Tahiti liveries used on those flights. Edited April 26, 20233 yr by Tuskin38

FSS Embraer - released basically as a re-skin of the Asobo A320, months later, they're only barely implementing their "custom autothrottle," we'll see what that means because there haven't really been promo shots. Airplane still has inexplicable engine failures. Cost: $30 ATR - came on release days with, yes, some bugs, but only one big showstopper I've seen. Performance is lovely, airplane flies great, systems need a little work and the Payload tab on the EFB really is quite useless, but I think there's a lot of potential with patches. Cost: $12.99 or $20 The ATR is getting way too much negative attention here. There are far worse examples. I'm expecting the Transall to come out and basically never see the custom LNAV they're planning.
