I prefer it - especially without working circuit breakers. 😄

So do I :-) Hey, what is the point of "working circuit breakers" - why are so many people so keen on them and expect them? Do they switch them on or off before the fly or even better in flight?

How could a generation of flightsimmers get along three decades without "working cirkuit brakers"?

Working circuit breakers are an indicator for extreme systems depth, which many flight simmers like („as real as it gets“), because they have effects on multiple interconnected systems and you therefore have to have those systems modelled very well, otherwise you cannot model circuit breakers bevhaviour.
As for usage: They are only used in case of problems (in flight sim terms: „failures“).

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

After the initial negativity from a lot of people (mainly due lack of documentation and people not operating it correctly due to this), I have found I actually quite like the thing, and I can see this ugly duckling gradually turning into a swan with a few decent updates.

The official videos, and videos from people like Jonathon Beckett, have been really useful.  If MS had put the videos out on day of release or even just before, it might have stopped a lot of the misunderstanding.

Apart from putting airways in the MCDU (a known bug), it is possible to get a really decent, enjoyable, and rewarding flight out of it.  I actually quite like the systems, and some of the things done to make it more usable, like the hidden click-spots, and the information and customisation available from the pad.  Simbrief has a way of importing now as well, so probably the best tenner I have spent in a sim!

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Video on the ATR out ths morning from 320 Sim Pilot, who in his flying career, didnt fly the ATR but the Dash 8 Q-400. Its 90 minutes long and I found it really informative as well as entertaining.

After a couple of days of running with the herd, these Youtube tutorials have convinced me the ATR isn't as flawed as first reported. Bought it, and so far I think its £10.74 well spent. I'll get the Transall too, of course.

I'm pretty sure people just love to jump on the circle jerk without attempting to form any opinion of their own. Majroity of the people jumping on the circle jerk hadn't even tried the plane or attempted to transfer their knowledge of a completetly different aircraft and had the same expectations. Simple things like not knowing it had advisory VNAV.

Boggles my mind that an ATR pilot decided to do a thesis on all that's wrong with a £10 product expecting some kind of Level D Simulator.

I do wonder what’s going on with the FMC lock ups.  I’ve done three flights and haven’t had one yet.  I wonder if I’ve just been lucky or if there’s another system specific issue at play?

Fenix A320 and Leonardo MD80 both have working CBs.

I guess my question is, does the ATR pulls nav data from the sim or it has it's own embedded copy of the MSFS navblue database that needs to be updated separately? And if it is the case, can it be updated with Navigraph?

The ATR appears to be using her own database:

I had planned to do a short test flight from Greater Cumberland Regl (KCBR) to Grant Co (W99) yesterday but the FMC would not accept W99 ("Not in Database").

However, W99 is definitely in the MSFS database as well as in Navigraph which I use.

I hope that this gets changed in order to stay more up-to-date and accurate.
