April 30, 20233 yr Just enter the vor & way points direct till they get it squared away. Improvise, adapt & overcome ;) I do get the frustration though.

This is a testimony that the aircraft is properly done, since ATR themselves had a heavy hand in the information they give. If we type in airways and waypoints and it freezes , its simply not the correct way of the real aircraft. This is some very flawed logic. There is rarely just one way to do things in the cockpit. If the "correct way of the real aircraft" is selecting the airway from a menu, and there is no other correct way, it should be impossible to enter airways directly in between the brackets. So that would still make the addon improperly done. More likely is that both ways are possible in the real aircraft, and it varies per operator or pilot how they use it. It is the same on my aircraft, where some people only enter direct-to's by copying the next waypoint over the current waypoint by means of the leg page, and others use the dedicated direct-to page of the FMS. Both ways work and are "correct". What might also be likely is that the ATR and the CRJ share some code, as the CRJ has a similar bug with entries in the FMS locking up the whole aircraft. I don't know, that seems like a way more likely explanation than "everyone is just using it wrong".
April 30, 20233 yr Is this plane at the "casual" level? I use the Asobo A320neo a lot. FlightAware for route search -> create route in LNM -> load plane at map screen -> Fly. Does ATR allow this or is it more complex? Thanks for any info.
April 30, 20233 yr Now that the cause of the FMC freezes have been identified, there are choices to made, either: - continue to program the FMC incorrectly and have it freeze and then complain about it freezing despite knowing it would happen - program the FMC correctly and have a fun flight - import from Simbrief, skip the risk of incorrectly programming the FMC, and have a fun flight. Obviously the FMC freezing is a bug and the real ATR wouldn’t do that, but now that the solution/workaround is known (until it is patched), why keep dwelling on it? Personally I’ll take the second or third options above and have some fun flights. Its the correct version that you stated. Did you re-generate an old FP or generate a new one? That's what I did and "Microsoft ATR 42/72" was showing in the list. In the Navigraph forums there was a topic on this. You must generate a FP first. April 30, 20233 yr Well, I bought it. First impression: plane looks fine, interior is modeled but textures not as detailed as compared to the inibuilds A310 or the Fenix cabin. Cockpit doors can be opened - thank God, no "teleporting" through doors required. Let's see how it compares to the Flight1 ATR. Edited April 30, 20233 yr by Ricardo41

I didn’t know what to expect having just come over from P3D, but I’m completely blown away by Hans’ work here. Fortunately many tutorials helped me to experience the ATR nearly without bugs. I can change temps to F or C without problems, and my MCDU hasn’t crashed once. This plane will be around a while, congrats Hans - ein wirklich tolles Produkt 🍻. Cheers, Pete Absolutely, yes! Still some things can be improved, but it's a really engaging and fun aircraft to fly. I am amazed at the mental gymnastics some people (and even more some that haven't even tried it) are doing to find every conceivable fault and dismiss this addon. Maybe if they put just half of that energy towards learning how the ATR really works they could have some enjoyment out of it... LPMA
April 30, 20233 yr I have been having a blast with the ATR this weekend but I also do hope some of the annoying bugs are fixed as it would make it even better. It does seem to be very popular though, I've seen loads of ATRs flying around.
