On ground at takeoff, ATS is engaged by toggle of either one of the two "Go-levers" - think of them as toga-buttons - computed TO thrust is then set by ATS before it declutches (THR annunciation changes from green to blue text). December 28, 20232 yr I’m pretty pumped for this one and hopefully it does end up being released today. I love airliners of this generation and the YouTube videos I’ve taken the time to watch seem to indicate this will be a very high fidelity nicely polished product. It will be fun to use for freighter ops, visiting airports or parts of airports you don’t normally do in a passenger plane, never mind a heavy one. Also, I would think T.O. THRUST can be achieved by clicking the A/THR BUTTON & moving the Throttle Levers manually as well? No, not when aircraft is on ground. The only way to engage ATS "THR" mode is to toggle the go-lever on the throttle quadrant, which for simming convenience also can be achieved via mouse push on the glareshield in the ini A300 (if I remember correctly) FYI, The ATS "arming" procedure is already accomplished during preflight when you arm ATS1 and ATS2 via switches on the overhead panel. To add to what SAS said -- here is how I do it with the A310 (which is the same throttle setup as far as I can tell) with HC Bravo: So I physically move the throttles to taxi out. Then after clearance etc. and lined up, I hit the TOGA button. At that point the autothrottle is in control (assuming as SAS mentioned, you have ATS1/2 set per checklist, and autothrottle is set in the AP control) and I physically move the Bravo throttles all the way forward. Moving them all the way forward isn't explicitly necessary because, as I said, the autothrottle is in control, but I still do it for safety reasons -- if for example the autothrottle failed my throttles would be around or approx in the right location, certainly better than leaving them at idle thrust. They stay there during my cruise and descent. Then on short final, unless I'm doing an autoland, I will first physically move the throttles down a little, and only THEN disable autothrottle (along with the AP) and hand-fly it in. By physically moving the throttles down a bit before disabling autothrottle, avoids a thrust bump on short final, which you probably don't want. I've found on the A310, depending on weight, 56-65 N1 is in the ballpark for a short final thrust setting with full flaps. Haven't flown the A300-600 yet to know what is best for it. December 28, 20232 yr How does this airliner compare to pmdg and fenix products? Is it the same level in terms of system design? For those who are flying it how is it running? Is it well optimized? I looked at some videos and the flight deck looks great at night. Also has anyone flown it using the thrustmaster airbus stick and throttle? Wondering how those will work with this.
