A miracle ? LSFG (Lossless Scaling Frame Generation)

Featured Replies

My experience:

- seems to work well on my left view client. It is smoother ( 30/60), 60 fps

- is not good when using multi views as the main screen indeed shows double fps (x2) , 30/60,but the extra external view only half ( /2) , 30/15

    I just upgraded my 3080ti to a 40 series for $6.99 lol.

  • Ok @David Roch I really thought this was going to be the latest "double your FPS" scam out there but I am literally in disbelief.  Thank you for bringing this to my attention.  I decided to give it

  • A little offtopic here but this software works wonders in xplane 12 too. From 40fps to 100fps with all settings maxed out at 4k. It's pure magic. I am speechless honestly.

Forgot to test that. But then I would've ran into problems with screen tearing again, unless I found some elaborate way of matching fps to refresh rate.

I'm gonna take a break from this, too much tweaking (even for me!) 🙂 Currently at locked 50fps without the app and back to g-sync. 50fps lets me run slightly crazy TLOD and traffic settings - which was my reason for trying out lossless in the first place.

I think x3 native FG is not impossible - RTX50 series perhaps?

Do you and others have set VSync=ON for LLS in NVCP. I have done and have no tearings. But my system is different (3090, 60 Hz monitor). So my Scaling is 30x2. Just an idea.

Hello Mr. Roch, Can you kindly share your lossless scaling settings with us, please ?

Go in the folder of lossless scaling and make a shortcut of the .exe on your desktop. Done.

Does it work with 4k TV 3840*2160 with Asus RTX 3090 OC?

Why not. The Monitor has no effect on this.

This mirrors my expirence as well. Tried multiple combinations but couldn't get it to work on second (or in my case third) MSFS windows.

Can confirmed this worked wonders! No more screen tearing.

try the LS checkbox for multiple screens?

On another subject, here's side by side with and without LS. But I'm trying to find one with four exclamation points in the title instead of three?

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

Made no difference on my system.

Imho I think that when using this app the FG inside MSFS should be Off.  So in my case limit to 30 , then X2 , to get 60 , which is the monitors frequency. It all looks smoother when using Vsync in either NVCP or inside MSFS.

But left or right , the extra external view shows 1/4 of the framerate when using X2 .

So currently only using LSFG on my left view pc.

Please help, I'm going crazy. I have a 144Hz monitor and a 4090. I have tried multiple configurations and applied advice from this forum and other media, but I can't see any difference, what's more, with LSFG activated, I get worse results, I definitely must be doing something wrong since all Here they have seen incredible better ones.

This is my configuration, please advice:

LSFG

LS1

LSFG 2.1

x2

Draw FPS

Nvidea Control Panel

I have added LSFG

Monitor

144Hz

3840x1080

Without Freesync

Windows

No HDR

RivaTuner Framerate

Limit: 72

MSFS2020 AutoFPS

targetFpsPC" value="70"

MSFS

Full Screen

DLSSSR Balanced or Quality

DLSSFG On

V-Sync Off

DX12

The LSFG Draw FPS indicates 144 / 144 (FPS)

on my monitor RivaTuner indicates 45 FPS

If the app is showing 144/144 then it looks as if it's working as intended. If you're not noticing any change then either (a) lucky you! Your performance is ace without it; or (b) maybe something is distorting the experience ... my first guess would be RivaTuner and/or AutoFPS.

If the app has made things worse, then my suggestion is that it's (b) and maybe you should try without using both those tools - and make sure they're sufficiently deactivated / uninstalled to exert no spectral influence 👻

(with love and respect to all those who use them, fixing the fps in RivaTuner is completely unnecessary and in fact RT won't work properly with multi monitors at all; and AutoFPS is simply redundant with the extra oomph given by this new app - and neither RivaTuner nor AutoFPS was designed with the app in mind so there might well be compatibility issues)

Then in your MSFS settings: the ones you've posted look good: the main thing is Frame Gen ON, Vsync OFF.

Then in the app, go for x2 or x3 as you like.
