September 20, 20241 yr As with FS2020, I'll be getting FS2024 through Steam. Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org

I've been on MS Store/Marketplace since the day of release for 2020 ... does the Steam method do away with that insanely long Community Folder path (and encryption)? There's a pinned post on the official discord saying that only Marketplace purchases carry over, not the deluxe/premium aircraft. It was too good to be true. I'll evaluate after release and select the best value. I'm not here to impress my friends. 😀 MSFS

I don't own any marketplace items thankfully, so no problem here. Now which edition to choose is the next question. I'll probably go for the premium deluxe. Since I don't really care for those 30 extra planes that you can get in MSFS 2020. Are those 30 planes free in MSFS 2020 or did you have to purchase them seperately? You purchased them separately, but for at least some of them if you got them when they released it was at a steep discount. I picked up most of the ones I was interested in for $10 or less per plane. September 20, 20241 yr I've never had any issues buying from the MS Store or Marketplace. I've had other issues, but transactions went smoothly. MSFS

Yes the Steam version does away with the long Community folder path. But the files on the steam version marketplace are encrypted exactly like the MS Store Marketplace files (the plane .cfg files for instance). 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. But the maker might update the product to take advantage of new 2024 capabilities. In that case you can still use the 2020 version in 2024 but will probably pay a small fee if you want the new 2024 features. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. September 20, 20241 yr I will just buy the standard or deluxe at the most. I don't really fly any default aircraft, and I replace a lot of the Asobo airports. I wonder if Orbx will do a money grab and charge for 2024 upgrades? Pete Richards I've owned every version of flight simulator since Flight Simulator 3.0 in 1988. September 20, 20241 yr Orbx will probably charge for 2024 upgrades. But the non upgrade 2020 versions will work in 2024 but without the new features. Upgrade prices are supposed to be cheap. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.
September 20, 20241 yr I have the Steam version 2020. I want the store version 2024. Would I lose anything by buying the store version of 2024 instead of the steam version? 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. There are many current reports of ongoing bandwidth issues with the current sim. Guess we'll see. Same thing ( or probably more worse ) for shure.. Because with MSFS 2024 a ton more NEW Simmers get on the boat, which of course puts even more strain on the already partially overloaded servers.. This will always be some kind off problem we all have to deal with - IMO ! cheers 😉 Edited September 20, 20241 yr by pmplayer 08.2024 new PC is online : ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F GAMING WIFI Mainboard, AMD Ryzen™ 9 7950X3D Prozessor, G.Skill DIMM 64 GB DDR5-6000 (2x 32 GB) Dual-Kit, MSI GeForce RTX 4090 VENTUS 3X E 24G OC Grafikkarte, 2x WD Black SN850X NVMe SSD 4 TB - Drive C+D, WD Gold Enterprise Class 12 TB for storage HDD, Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 1000W PC - Power supply, Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO CPU Aircooler with 7 Heatpipes, Design Meshify 2 White TG Clear Tint Tower-Case, 3x 4K monitors 2x32 Samsung 1x27 LG 3840x2160, Windows11 Prof. 23H2 - now Windows11 Prof. 25H2 Flightsimulator Hardware: Honeycomb Throttle Bravo, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, Logitech Flight Joke System, XBox Controller, some Thrustmaster stuff, Winwing CDU Panels.
