  • I'll bet he read it way before you did.  And I'll further say he feels far worse about the launch than anyone on this forum does.  But you'd like to rub his nose in it as much as possible, as usual.

  • God forbid I have an opinion now that the Asobo apologists are back 🤣 "oh no we must defend Jorg at all costs from the tyranny of those that say what they think!" I'll speak my mind thanks chaps,

Well, please a video of proof from you doing a cold & dark flight from any airport to another using:

- the default C172 with classic cockpit

- the F/A-18

- the S340 using a proper flightplan

- the C404 and doing an ILS approach

Just to name some. Or show in any of these flights proper ATC integration and AI traffic and jetway action.

You are simply confusing the term «working» with anything we get. Of course is it working. If you remove the steering wheel from a car, it still «works», but you would agree it is utterly useless.

This may be where some of the perception disconnect is. I have zero interest in flying those planes. I don't even know how to fly them. I'm a tube liner at heart.

Even working in 2020, I never found the default airplanes to be up to my standards. If I want to fly a GA plane, I think I'm better off just getting a 3rd party plane.

I fly the Fenix and the AvroRJ 90% of the time. Once I figured out where to place my license file for the RJ, even though it's not supported until this week's update, the .1.1 patch fixed some of the 2024 issues I had.

Likewise, the ini a20n, a321, a330, and a400 are good and more than capable of full cold and dark flights.

Now, the Asobo MAX, I admit. That one is probably aligned with your perception. Too many things just don't work in that plane.

This as an example: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/request-for-the-unencryption-and-full-downloadability-of-default-aircraft-in-msfs-2024/667001/1

How can the yaysayers in this forum not SEE how totally borked this sim is, not only in regard of bugs, but also in most other aspects. Are people really that basic that some successful simple A to B flights with default plane and livery is sufficient for them to justify all this word not allowed? Well, then I see no hope for this flightsimming community... really, really hope that the Dec. 9 patch will clear some things up. Or already tomorrows dev stream.

“Full downloadability” of aircraft and scenery is supposed to come with the Dec 9th “big patch”, along with unlocking of the Marketplace. We’ll see if that is the case soon.

Another clickbait article.

Exactly...Is FSElite gospel however they are? Not hardly since I had to look them up to see who they are.

Definitely a revenue generating web site looking for clicks!!!

It's just a shameless plug for FS Elite similar to all the reposting of the YouTuber's garbage!

I am not sold this update will have much for downloads. They said we can enable/disable content, but nothing tells me it's still not a cloud-based setting.

I hope this is something we get clarity on tomorrow.

I honestly do not think that we are at that "mostly resolved level" as yet.

I don't think we know enough yet to determine if it's server or something else. People with downloaded sceneries are seeing the same thing, and those aren't streaming. I've also noticed that, particularly in career mode, framerate often nosedives just before touchdown, right about at ground effect altitude. We're talking going from completely smooth to maybe 5fps, if that, and that framerate drop continues until the plane decelerates to significantly under flying speed, during which you just have to hope the thing will stay relatively straight on the runway because any control inputs aren't processed in real time so everything gets messed up. Once down to near taxi speed, the framerates improve significantly but they still aren't as good as in the air.

I don't think it's just scenery because these are flights with a max AGL of 1,500 feet, so it should still be loading in for the most part while I'm airborne and getting perfectly smooth framerates. But I don't think it's server either because it's too consistent. I suspect something it's trying to simulate (ground effect maybe?) is causing the sim to stumble.

I noticed that going into FB's KSFO last night in the Asobo MAX. I was also running a ACARS and a flight replay tool and thought that could be it. I'm questioning that logic now.

For those who keep going on and on about how the sim is in too buggy of a state, I once again ask a simple question: You can refund it, you could not have bought it until it's in a better state, etc.. so why the constant angst? If you choose to be a pre-release buyer then that's on you, if you're gonna blindly buy pre release then you'd better be able to handle whatever comes (but here too one can refund right now).

Waiting for it to be in a more stable state where the threshold for bugs is at an acceptable level for you... is no different from MS/Asobo delaying the release for the same amount of time to release it in a better state right?

So if you're continuing to use it while proclaiming that MS/Asobo has done you so wrong, then I'm sorry it just seems like you just want to keep making a scene.. and/or you just can't stand that are many who're actually enjoying the sim and its advancements without too many (or any) major issues, and/or you have a weird personal thing against Jorg 🤷‍♂️

Amen, I understood that it would be like this and will not buy it until the game are polished and works with my add-ons.

I  accept my Premium Deluxe version like i bought in MSFS2020 but i do not respect the decision to launch a simulator with this . At least delay the Premium Deluxe/Avatar content and give people a discount for investing there money in it upfront.

Monopol ?

Another one I just can't understand buying it in the first place. He's said so many times Asobo are a bunch of incompetents who can't be trusted, they should all be ashamed of themselves etc. etc.

Spot on that is exactly what's happening.

I have a little bit of blind faith that they'll do the right thing and fix the issues.

4y of history that fueled your passion only gave you 'a little bit of blind faith'?  Good Lord!  I bet you actually believe if you don't whine they won't fix 2024.

why have an opinion on anything ever?

the "continual angst" is just the same argument going around and around in circles, it's not continual anger at the software

I'm remarkably non-plussed about the situation, but will always criticise a company for releasing something which is clearly not fit for purpose

i did refund thanks, and have gamepass so access to Standard to watch progress

but I'm afraid it's impossible for me not to rise to posts saying the sim is not broken 😄

this is a discussion forum and we are discussing the FS Elite article 👍

I don't remember any P3D release having a DISASTER like the one we're seeing with ‘2024’.

Absolute correct...and a massive part of that was from v1 to v2 to v3 there was almost no change to the fundamental product, and cost $200 to upgrade each time for anyone who was not a legit student qualifying for the Academic license.  V4 was the port to 64 bit.  I left after that.  The difference here is that MSFS 2024 is a massive update in multiple ways to 2020.
