I've setup different profiles now for GA mixture, prop as well as airliners (2 engines, 4 engines) and the settings seem to stick. Thank you. I will pass the info to the other guys. Meanwhile, I'm on the road, and it will take a few days before I get to my PC. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.

I would guess that most likely it's clearing the cache though, but I could be wrong Other games will rebuild the shader cache after a game or driver update... I wonder why MSFS doesn't do the same? I'm guessing there is an API call out there that clears the shader cache under certain conditions. I was having some odd performance lag when on the tarmac after this update, so I'll give this a shot as well. Usually I don't mess with the shader cache, and I've never messed with DLSS in 2020 because I used TAA.

I do need to test out the RJ and see if I am bit by the issues folks were having. I am taking a break from figuring out if I an update fixed something with the Native planes. Pretty much. I installed JP Logistics 152 but had other issues. Same with the Comanche (and its fix). The RJ , for me, has a ton of issues ranging from the transponder not working or setting off alerts, no engine gauges working etc. The Fenix does work for me, however. oh well. December 12, 20241 yr I don't own FS2024 (yet) so speaking merely as an observer, when we have countless threads and now 19 pages here alone about how good/bad, working/not working FS2024 is or this going back to FS2020/staying with FS2024...etc, etc. To me, with that much controversy, indicates FS2024 is simply not mature enough. It's not ready to be a stable core sim to build and rely on. When a product for us flight simmers is solid and good, we all know it (Navigraph, the Duke, or the Just Flight 146/RJ). Usually the only argument is the price. But in this case there is just too many things people are having issues with. And just like an add-on, the core sim is no different. Too many strange, incomplete things. A. It's not ready yet, and it is going to be a good while. Stay with 2020; I kind of wish I had. There are so many bugs and as usual they fix one introduce another. They fixed the divide-integer error which solved the initial error that prevented the TDI 750 from working but introduced another one that stretches the display and makes it unusable. They are planning 1 sim update a quarter and this will probably need 3 or 4 significant updates, so maybe this time next year. I'm enjoying MSFS 2024 immensely. Of course it"s not "mature enough" - it's a brand new sim! Folks who are scared of the New should really stick with MSFS 2020.

Updated the nvgx_dlss and nvgx_dlssg files in the Limitless install directory from version 3.7.20 to version 3.8.10. Deleted the contents of the cache and scenery index folders in APPDATA\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Another Reboot. And running very smooth now. Thanks for adding this. It will be helpful to a lot of users. The thing is, I wonder if MS / Asobo are offering people this guidance anywhere. People are having to self-fix sim problems at the moment, and I wonder how many users actually come here to Avsim or would even find this thread and your useful information. It just isn't right that users basically have to find their own way to get the sim running optimally - no wonder so many are feeling it is a waste of time and money and have such a poor impression of it. Then again, it was like this with MSFS2020, and probably to a lesser degree with FSX / P3D before that. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).
