Upcoming soundpack for PMDG lineup

I think the sounds are great.  However, I have run into a problem and I am not sure if it is caused by the new sound pack or today's update from PMDG.  I set pause at top of descent which works fine except when I resume after the pause all engine and wind sounds are gone in the cockpit.  Changing views used to fix this but no more.  Anyone else encounter this or have a solution?  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks!

That issue was prevalent before this sound pack.

  • Boris’s sounds are on another level. If you close your eyes, you will literally hear no difference between the real thing and his sound package.

Okay then let me ask you something. Did you sit in the 737 for 7384 hours over a period of 10 years? Facing the engine on approximately 4 sectors a day? Over 5 days a week? No doubts that the pilots t

Looks like the latest update of the 737 has borked the VNav, overspeed, won't climb, not working as it has always done. I bet this is one of those 2020-2024 updates.

Flew fine TBPB - TTPP, didn't overspeed or have trouble climbing and had VNAV capturing as intented. Not to mention nothing in the changelog was regarding 2024 and PMDG as primarily focusing on getting the 777 in FS24 first then the 737.

Yeah, you are probably correct. I think I will restart my PC after this flight, which I forgot to do after the update.

Well I must confess that I am not a 737 pilot and have spent literally 1000s of hours in just about every square inch of the 737 except (unfortunately) the flight deck.

I have however spent many, many hours in the flight deck of the PMDG NGX, NGXU and the MSFS PMDG 737 and for me the sound from the cockpit of the MSFS PMDG 737 is awful. I have been struggling to eliminate an annoying swooshing sound from the cockpit/ambience sounds when advancing or regarding the thrust during taxi ever since I purchased the MSFS version and finally Boris has sent it packing. That alone is worth the purchase price.

Notwithstanding all that, This for me is the best sound pack of them all.

I'm very satisfied with the new package.  I was already decently satisfied with the stock sounds.  I wish he would have done the 777 first, as I think that's the plane that needed the most help with sounds.

Do you feel the wind noise to be accurate when in cruise?

To me it sounds fine coming from a non 737 pilot. I think I am one of many that are laymen that can only assume what is authentic.

Is it me, but I'm hardly hearing the touchdown sounds at all? Surely they're louder or more prominent in the cockpit than shown in the video, aren't they?

Touchdown during a nice landing doesn't really make much of a sound in the flight deck, until the spoilers deploy and of course the reverse spooling up, and expansion joint thumping.  Now if you bang it on good, that will be a little more audible.  But in general, I think this is something flight sim devs do; they use sounds as a replacement for certain aspects of an airplane that are more tactile in nature.  And I mean, that works well; it's probably the best option there is.  But in those cases, a little artistic license might be a good thing.

One thing i like from PMDG is these low bass sounds from engines which really make a differents with a buttkicker. How is Boris in this regards?

What files do you see in the sounds folder of the new package.  I only see this:

BAW737.PC.pck  and an HTML file.  Is that correct?  Only asking because I had about 5 minutes to test it yesterday and started the engines from the cockpit but heard very little.

Sure, a bit like me Rick. It would be nice to hear from a real 737 pilot, but for me, it just sounds a little too loud. But of course I can't say it's accurate or not(?)

I'd like an answer on this too. I have good full range consumer headphones and the moment the engines spool down at TOD the most sublime bass note fills my ears. I would not want to lose this I actually commented on it after purchase on the pmdg forums.
