that's the one I would trust over the other tools. NVidia should know what they are doing, other 3rd party apps not always.

I've got 2024 custom installed to my F: drive. I think the default path is C:\Xboxgames\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\Content - or similar. 

Yeah. I think DLSS indicator should gives us the info we need. I just find it strange that it reported DLSS4, even though the .dll files had been overwritten by the latest SU1 beta.

 Pfft... what's the worst that could happen... a parent finds out their innocent little rascal is flying around with their friends using a racist registration, they report it to PEGI/ESRB, and MSFS gets pulled from Steam and the MS Store/Gamepass until Asobo fixes it. No big deal, right? Asobo should be contacting the legal, software, and aircraft experts at Avsim to set their priorities 🙄

You should be able to set seat height in the options.  Or maybe this was only in 2020.

Well, setting a custom view takes all of 2 seconds, what's so difficult about that? IMO they have more important fixes to take care of.

I've never seen such a broken game have such slow and weak sauce updates. I'd be embarrassed if I worked at this company.

So I use F11 to get a better landing view but how does one set up a custom camera view?

Sim loads - world map cant zoom in to pick place to fly - so started flight from anywhere and now sim has spinning wheel of doom and degraded bandwidth message also - not good

Guess everyone going back to 2024 - this is going to be a long journey of pain 

*One* sim update, aka Sim Update 1, delivered as multiple drivers over time during the beta period, each obviously adding on top of the previous driver's changes... with the first drop obviously having the most amount of changes, then gradually decreasing on subsequent drivers:

As one (with basic comprehension of software) would expect, changes get less and less from drop to drop, as SU1 gets closer to release....

However, some genius Avsim sofware development experts after seeing the changelog in drop #4: "OMG these are slow and weak updates!", "OMG they should be embarrassed!", "OMG they are not focusing on the Serious ™️ stuff because they also did less serious changes!" ... I mean, these are some next level pearl-clutching 🤡 ish takes 🤣

What I noticed which I've never seen before is the startup screen sim loaded fast 1:30 seconds

But once in world map (Free Flight) its very slow to try and get non blurry terrain to pick an airport runway to take off from 

Then after choosing fly now thats a long wait - its like the opposite of what it use to be

Startup was 3:30 seconds - and world map was pretty fast and loading to runway - very weird

Same. On F: for flight. Yet there are some pretty identical folders on C:, under C:\user\…\appdata… incl  Community folder IIRC

my first attempt to delete those identical and IMO redundant folders on C basically let to a reinstall, at least all folders were there again. Despite having my eg community folder on F. 

So what is my message? I am confused. Obviously 2024 wants to have some content installed on 2 places simultaneously. While I seemingly work from my F drive, I just gave in and let it keep those folders also on C though fearing that just eats up space. But since I have enough …

This Simulator is just sick from beginning to the end so for me the disaster still goes on, can not belive why still people have the patience to fool around with that NEW Simulator..

Especially since we have an excellent, actually error-free MSFS2020 that took 4 years of development and is now really as good and stable as I imagine and I don't want to go through this update and fixing theater again. This new sim was just a money-making scheme for me, nothing else !!!

I really hope that the MSFS202O will continue to be supported with new aircraft coming onto the market because it is simply the better and more stable and reliable simulator at the moment. And that's what's important to me, more important as the NEW gimmicks that this unfinished 2024 Simulator can offer..

As long as I stick to „mature” aircraft in 2024 (like many Asobo and iniBuilds 2020 aircraft plus Blacksquare’s Turbine Duke) I have great fun with the new simulator. And of course I still keep P3DV5 and MSFS2020 on my computer and always choose the most suitable sim for my flights. Let’s be patient; 2024 will be an exciting and reliable sim some time soonish.

And keep in mind that the flightsim community never before had a complex piece of software like this!

Maybe my understanding of this is too simplified. But there's at least two main locations with files:

• the content folder, which normally ends up in C:\Xboxgames => this is where the flight simulator .exe resides - and where I put those DLSS .dll files
• the appdata folder - which includes e.g. the usercfg.opt, exe.xml etc (I'm not at the PC now so don't know the exact folder path)
