The mixture is bugged. Even though it visually moves when you adjust it on a peripheral binding, it won’t register the move unless you move it with your mouse in cockpit view.

Tried that, the C182Q has the same issue...

Just checking, have you removed the intake blanks? I only ask because I ddin't realise they were fitted and couldn't start the engine lol.

Oh dear, that must be it, lol! I never did a walkaround, pressed Shift-C to enter the cockpit straight away. I'll check later. Thanks!

Cheers, Bert

  • I like JF but their original piper stuff is really dated.  I like to have superb visuals. I just don't understand why you hate carenado so much.  You're not going to A2A quality for Carenado pric

  • Finally finished my paint - took me a while longer than I thought!  But it's very red haha!  (Just the way I like them!) https://flightsim.to/file/94526/n9181w-for-carenado-piper-dakota-2024-only

  • I've uploaded a first repaint for the Dakota 😃 https://flightsim.to/file/94481/microsoft-piper-pa-28-236-dakota-n8414z-dynamic-registration

Thanks Tim!  I just snaffled it.

I am actually really liking this bird.  I just love the way it looks, and that repaint just makes it even better.

It moves better than I expected cross country as well.  It's certainly no slouch.

EDIT:  Just to report I am not seeing the mixture issues that are being reported by others.  The mixture lever responds to my Saitek throttle quadrant as expected.  I can even lean it out using the EGT gauge.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

So I think this leaves just one more free aircraft for 2024 users?

TDS has a panel to download now that enables their GTNxi to be fitted to the Dakota.

This along with Tim's excellent paint turns the Dakota into a really nice 2024 freeware item!

For old simmers only, there’s one thing that I appreciate with this Carenado Dakota: The full compatibility of the autopilot with my old VRinsight M-Panel (https://www.wilcopub.com/m-panel.html?___store=wfr&___from_store=wen) I can set VS mode and Altitude to capture.

I’ve been lazy to figure out how altitude could be sync with other AP in MSFS20/24. HDG works but most of AP doesn't support Altitude set in my m-panel.

Make sure you have the latest TDS GPS manager and then the latest TDS update to get crosfill with your 650xi there.

Also I sent you a message in Discord.

Is that a lighter instrument panel mod? May I ask where you got that from?

Some of you must have entered this hobby with msfs 2020 being your first pc based simulator. The offerings we have now that are “default” airplanes are leaps and bounds better than what was ever offered in FS9, FSX and P3d.

You guys wouldn’t have lasted a mere day with the older sim platforms.

The freeware offerings back then were good but not great. POSKY was a company that made some good freeware birds but even those were a joke after awhile. The flight dynamics weren’t that great the older the company got. That doesn’t sound much different than today. It’s freeware after all.

My point is that freeware airplanes were never as good as payware. But for some reason, they are expected to be these days. I don’t get it.

FAA: ATP-ME, 737 CA, enough time in the 757/767 to be dangerous 🤠
