December 17, 2025Dec 17 As members of AVSIM, we all interact in many ways. That could be discussion and banter, disagreement but also help.  There are also those who give a lot more than they take. 😎 Are there any members you would like to give a shout out to, for the last year? I'll start;- @ryanbatc Ryan is always a calm, collected, positive person here on AVSIM. He never descends into sarcasm or belittlement. He's knowledgeable, measured and has a good sense of fun. But the real reason I'd give Ryan a mention is because I use about 10 or more of his stunning repaints that he's spent many hours creating, on fantastic aircraft like the Blacksquare fleet.   Around 18 months ago (just before I took a hiatus from the hobby) Ryan also made me a personalised, gorgeous repaint with my requested 'G' registration for the Carenado CT182T. I'd mentioned on here that there were so few 'G' regs, so he messaged me and offered to make one. A 'spiffing old chap' as a British man from the 1920s would say. 😎 @vbazillio Vincent's stunning airports are my favourite in the sim. I regularly fly to all of his US airports. He again has spent countless hours creating these masterpieces, to then share them with the community at no cost.  As I don't really use FS.TO's clunky updates system, I always get to read about updates to his airports through his posts here on AVSIM. I sometimes dream that one day he'll make a GA field in the UK (my home of the last 26 years) or Canada (my home of birth) 😄No pressure Vincent!       Edited December 17, 2025Dec 17 by JYW Bill 😎FS2024 • Currently in 'GA mode' : A2A Comanche 2024 & Aerostar • Black Square C208, Bonanzas, Barons, TBM850, Dukes • COWS DA40 & DA42 • FSW Legacy, C24R Sierra & C414 • Echo Falco F8L • FFX HJET, Visionjet and P180 2024 • Got Friends A32 Vixxen • FSReborn Sirius TL3000, Sting S4 and Piper M500 • Flyboy Rans S6S • Skyward DA50RG • SWS Zenith CH701, RV-8, RV-10, RV-14, PC12 • Milviz C310R • Air Foil Labs Bristell B23 TrackIR • BeyondATC • PMS GTN Payware • RealTurb • Axis & Ohs • FS Realistic Pro9800X3D • RTX 3080 • 64GB DDR5-6000NPPL licence holder in the UK

December 18, 2025Dec 18 There are so many contributors here I absolutely enjoy reading when they post I would be remiss in trying to name them all because I'm sure I would forget someone, so here's a shout out to all of you "unnamed" posters. However, I absolutely must mention @Reset XPDR. His DynamicLOD program is a must have and I wouldn't be able to enjoy MSFS2024 the way I do and can on my "older" system without it. Plus, anytime I have had a question about it he is very prompt to reply to my queries. So, thanks Reset! May I also take this opportunity to wish everyone here the happiest of holidays, and may Santa grant your every wish! Ken
December 18, 2025Dec 18 Birdguy (aka Noel), always enjoy his heartfelt posts and wisdom. psolk (aka Paul), a true racer, a fellow fan of Watkins Glen and fellow New Jerseyan. Matthew Kane, even though he left the forum, always enjoyed his informative and thoughtful posts. BTW, I appreciate the rest of you (yuz in this part of the world) too. Tom      MAKA = Make America Kind Again

It almost feels like being nominated for awards in Oscar season. Thank you so much for the kind words. I’m glad you’re enjoying the airports and believe me I'm a real (curious) amateur and so many real creators are sharing so many content. Mamu Design/Frederico Pinotti, Patriot Six to take only 2 examples. A GA field in the UK or Canada is a tempting idea… never say never! Vincent B. December 20, 2025Dec 20 Oh, there are so so many I love to read from.... I shouldn't be able to order them in terms of preferences... but there are some in "my heart", like @HiFlyer @birdguy @Murmur @Bob Scott Some I really like to read more specific stuff about the sims I use, like @UrgentSiesta @tonywob @coastaldriver @Bjoern @Mike_CFII_MEL @Litjan @lwt1971 @JETPETER2 Some I also like to read from because somehow they touch my deepest feelings about the flight simulators I use or have used, being critic, sometimes controversial, but after all, honest ! @Greazer but many many more... AVSIM is my 2nd home ! 🙂  Ah!!!! And BTW!!!! Happy Seasons to All !!! with Health, Love, Happyness !!!! December 20, 2025Dec 20 Well thanks JComm. Not sure I could come up with a current list but you named a few so that will do. A lot of folk have come and gone in the flight sim world but it is a community of like minded souls most with good intentions and a passion for aviation really - and flight simulation is a branch of that great human endeavour - manned flight. What people really want from it I guess is a matter of what lies within every human, sense of adventure, bit of excitement, but a small slice of that amazing human journey now over a 100 years long of taking wings and flying! Just so happens the modern computer made it possible and opened up the flight experience to millions of people who for various reasons could not participate in real world aviation. So we have our great artists, historians, highly literate PC programmers and tech wizards. Me I appreciate every bit of that flight sim journey and what has come to pass - we now have several not just one or two fine computerised flight simulation programs. Yes behind the systems lie clever individuals and business and any business is after all a collective of like minds and skills So I appreciate that interest and fervour of all who do it and share in the experience including its ups, downs and inevitable frustrations. Best wishes to you all , keep safe, keep flying!
December 20, 2025Dec 20 Young Mr. Charles. It's not easy moderating a forum, I used to do it, and Mr. Charles does a good job, with his characteristic sense of humour. Also... me! 😺
December 20, 2025Dec 20 Thanks to those who mentioned me in this thread. While not a flight simmer anymore this forum is magnet that sometimes makes my day. I consider everyone here a friend who pays attention to an old man's musings. I would have one request though. After a couple of years of behaving myself couldn't I again be allowed to post without my replies being reviewed by the moderators first? Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
