January 10Jan 10 Looks like my MD11 is inbound to 2024 come Monday, that is when I ditch 2020 and free up all that HDD space.

I was trying to identify compelling reasons for me personally to go from FS20 to FS24, and I said I didn’t see any specific new features that I personally find compelling. You've reframed that into “can you keep running old software if you like it?”, which is obviously true but not the point I was making. When I said “compelling,” I meant compelling features in FS24 relative to FS20. Hope that clarifies! Edited January 13Jan 13 by EGLD

It gets you flying planes you might not fly in areas of the world you might never visit. SU4 is rock solid on my rig. No crashes in over a week of heavy usage daily. January 18Jan 18 If it says “streamed,” it’s because 2024 is using them. I prefer everything installed; but OK, that answers my question. Thank you! 13600KF - AIO - 32GB DDR4 - RTX4070 - UW1440p GSync - USB DAC - 2TB NVMe - Windows 11 Pro - Gladiator NXT EVO - 1 Gbps Fiber - MSFS 2024

January 18Jan 18 1 hour ago, Shomron said: I assume for faster performance? Hi Shomron: Pretty much everything in MSFS including such updates (and aircraft etc.) are now streamed by default. It’s a significant shift of mindset when you’re transitioning from MSFS2020 to MSFS2024. This is to make use of newer (client-server) technology and also to reduce local installation/footprint size. An option for local download was added in later into MSFS2024, but I’ve never used it myself…except for the first time (and the only time) just yesterday when I did not see the (free) iniBuilds VIP Update of my A340 aircraft (automatically) streamed in, so, I’d manually download and install the update. These are rare exceptions… Since, it’s now more on-demand usage of scenery and textures etc., yes, it’s meant for higher performance. However, it can affect user experience. Just as, I was earlier today watching a film on (Amazon) Prime Video, and in the middle of it, it stopped streaming for a minute, with appearance of that spinning white circle instead, not something we would ever expect to see from using a DVD based film… So, whether we like it or not, streaming and clouds are here to stay with us…🙂… Cheers…! FSW developed one for 2024 using the new sdk features. That’s the only reason I see for moving over. But am not cause 2020 is running and looking so good. Let us know what you decide.
