For a long time it felt like folks had it in for MSFS 2024. dd Yes, I can understand some frustrations with the unpredictable streaming, server, or/and bandwidth issues of MSFS2024, leading to localized scenery degradations for some users (me included). However, the difficulty with configuration controls has been made out to be more than what it is. The configuration (flight control) interface, actually, is quite powerful and flexible (with clear demarcations in terms of the controllers, e.g., Thrustmaster, Keyboard, and Xbox controller, in my case). We just examine the (factory) default settings, and then have to redefine just a few, to our own preference. It’s good to see someone…🙂…here, so concerned about the transition to MSFS2024 (I thought that would not happen in 2025…🙂…), jump into the New SIM and not being critical of the configuration setup. That mimics my own experience too, not that I don’t have a few other issues with MSFS2024. Enjoy your journey in MSFS2024, being thankful that we have a “Microsoft” based SIM that’s thriving now with updates and all…with new (native) add-ons on the horizon…
December 23, 2025Dec 23 For example and I don't recall in what SU was introduced the ability to use MSFS2020 keyboard control profile or maybe I even noticed that option in the first time a booted MSFS2024, was a total nightmare for me the new keyboard commands. Joystick and throttles were easier/similar/or better than MSFS2020, so I uninstalled MS2024 and carried on with just MSFS2020 almost this last year. But since SU2 I think discovered that I can use MSFS2020 keyboard controls when I installed again MSFS2024 to see what are the improvements and was like wow finally I can use MSFS2024 and give it a new chance, not that I completely moved to MSFS2024 but I can say I'm using 1/3 MSFS2024, 1/3 MSFS2020 and 1/3 XP12. After setting things up this past weekend when I moved to MS24, I was actually shocked how easy it was once you get in and get it figured out. Eric
December 23, 2025Dec 23 Actually, a button “export to all aircraft” is very well hidden in the menu. My initial shock was like I needed to have a separate set of controls for each aircraft. 9950X3D, X870E ROG CROSSHAIR HERO, Corsair Dominator Titanium 64GB DDR5-6000 PC5-48000, ASUS RTX 5070Ti 16GB, 9100 PRO 4TB Samsung ,990 PRO 4TB Samsung, AX1600i 1600 Watt 80 Plus Titanium ATX, ASUS 360 ARGB EXTREME 360mm Liquid CPU Cooling Kit.

I was looking back at some old screenshots and found myself thinking that apart from the quality of the terrain and buildings, a lot of them looked pretty fine, and well up to MSFS standards. I reinstalled all my P3D versions (2/3/4/5) and even bought a copy of V6. Mainly using v4, still loading up all my aircraft, and some way off tuning for visuals (REX/AS and all that stuff). Never going to replace MSFS again (unless MAsobo pulls the plug) but great to have. Found some lovely old gems of aircraft I had actually forgotten about, and enjoying buzzing around in them. And on top of this, SU4 has really put the icing on the cake of 2024 for me. Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. December 24, 2025Dec 24 Looking at the Steam charts and it's very clear that SU4 has become the crossover point for many users, in the weeks leading up to release there was 1400 less users on average which closed to 1000-ish. Then SU4 release day it swapped around to be roughly 500 more daily users in MSFS2024 since. It'll be interesting to see if that gap continues to widen and if MSFS2020 users drop off a cliff then what MS decides to do with "support" of that title, it could determine whether they continue on for years or bring it to an abrupt end if a vast majority have moved on to MSFS2024. God forbid they're even thinking of MSFS2028 🙄 Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1 Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)
December 24, 2025Dec 24 Not sure what they did with SU4 but the few flights I have done with Fenix into major payware airports have been smooth, stutter free and very high FPS all the wall down and in to the gate. Really amazing performance now with all the 4096pixel AI traffic running. If you were part of this, well done. EG. in some planes you'll want a single throttle, prop, mixture lever set up, but in others - like a twin - you'll need two throttle axes. My use of the (any) sim though is pretty much diametrically opposite to yours - I don't think I've ever willingly clicked on a switch or set a value in any cockpit ever, and the first thing I always do with a sim is turn off any ATC. Can't abide the constant whining voices telling me what I should be doing <grin> Mostly Ctrl-e, pedal to the metal, off and away to explore the world outside. Just be grateful I always turn multiplayer off as well - I'd be a real hazard if anyone else could see me. Sounds like you'd love the Discovery Mode, or the World Photographer, or ever the low level flying stuff. Check out the various activities... I think you might have fun. December 25, 2025Dec 25 The same blurry taxiway sign textures issue that I see at MK Studios BIKF Keflavik v2 is also evident at IniBuilds EGGW Luton and EGHI Southampton. I get the feeling that I will see this issue at quite a few airports during my testing phase in MSFS 2024. I have also noted other issues, and these are being logged.
