  1. Past hour
  2. Jenny looks wonderful...Beautiful fly-past shot of the landmark...!
  3. AS ENGM plus GSX - lovely combo... πŸ™‚ ...Very nice single shot...
  4. Nice set...XP always has great Helicopter SIMs... Isle of Man is a lovely place to visit in our SIM...I do recall that Manx Airlines from past SIMs ...πŸ™‚...
  5. Andreas, Will, John, pmplayer, Andy et al.: Many thanks for the comments and responses...!
  6. Thanks, John. Setting sun gives an unusually beautiful quality to landscapes (and approaches) like this.... Yes, agree...Todd ...πŸ™‚... Wonderful bits of reminiscences...πŸ™‚...including Virgin Orbit Satellites and Battle of Britain Day Air shows ... Yes, right about Scilly Skybus...I did read that they operate Twin Otters from St Mary's to e.g., Land's End airport...the airport I'd intended to land on with my DC-3, against better judgement...πŸ™‚...And MSFS still calls EGHQ by the name "RAF St Mawgan", you mentioned, and I got confused by the inconsistent names of the airport between Wiki and MSFS... Thanks, pmplayer....! Yes, "For Ever"...is the word...πŸ™‚...for DC-3... Appreciated the comment...! Yes, DC-3 was not a good match for either St Mary's or Land's End...I think...Oh well...Glad it's all imaginary...πŸ™‚... Thanks for the comment, Will.
  7. You are just wrong. In any of your posts. Art 7 is regarding consent, not your credit card data. But hey - try again, kid.
  8. Yeah, this one is more likely to go BOOM πŸ’₯
  9. First of all, the monumental feat of airmanship while landing the (massive) C-17 on Scilly Isles' EGCH Runway...πŸ™‚...see Andy's post...should be something to seriously reckon with...πŸ™‚... Andy says it took several attempts, but surely, he has nailed it on his final attempt. And, if one can do it once, one will probably be able to repeat it without as much difficulty...being already familiar with the terrain and approach features of this unique airport. Anyway, after viewing that post I felt encouraged to try, for myself, a landing into the other (north) Runway of EGHE (Andy had landed on the west Rwy 27; see the overhead image below (shot #3) of the crisscrossing (09/27 and 14/32) runways). I noticed that Rwy 32 of EGHE allows for an NDB approach. Now, it has been more than 10 years since I last accomplished an NDB approach in the SIM (you see, these are the days of GPS, FMS and EFB...anything less (such as VOR/NDB Navigation) is tantamount to stone age (aviation) technology...πŸ™‚...because these are now obsolete...) ...Moreover, in MSFS, I didn't have a good idea about how to set up for an NDB Approach. Some research indicated that the G1000 allows for tuning to the desired NDB frequency (for St Mary's EGHE Rwy 32, the NDB (ID = STM) frequency is "321.0"). Once tuned, the HSI on the PFD (indeed) displayed the blue ADF Needle with the top arrow "always" pointing towards the NDB ground station (see my 2nd shot, below, where the PFD shows the ADF needle and the MFD shows the NDB station). The published radial to (EGHE) Rwy 32 NDB Approach is "324" degrees. So, if the nose of the aircraft is aligned to 324 degrees, with the blue (top) arrow of the ADF needle pointing straight ahead...then the aircraft is on track towards the threshold of the destination runway. Frankly, I found it a bit tricky...being not used to it..., but it all eventually did work out well enough to make a smooth touchdown on the first attempt (see my landing images). So, please find 20 pictures, as I've lifted off Rwy 14, in the opposite direction, climbed to 1,500 ft, proceeded out over the sea for 10 nms, and then made a U-turn backwards to track the NDB signal of the HSI, while aligning the a/c to 324 degrees heading. I certainly need more practice with such procedures in MSFS, but it was good fun overall, especially approaching (and landing) into such a picturesque (island) airport. Of course, I have preferred to test this procedure with my trusty (and meek) Cessna Skyhawk, but the C-17 (or the C-130) would be the farthest things on my mind for this exercise...πŸ™‚... Thanks for viewing this collection of images from this simple experiment...! Hope you enjoy...!
  10. Today
  11. No, I think it's this thread (*ponders momentarily*) I noticed the yoke animations being reversed. Not sure what got twisted around for that to happen. I'll re-load the airplane and see if that fixes it. I didn't notice anything odd about the pseudo-autopilot, i.e. it wasn't adding max rudder. I couldn't tune the Jonesboro, Arkansas VOR station, but it could be that I was too far away (I was over airport M28 - Mid Continent Airport - at low altitude). EDIT: Hmm. I landed at M28, parked off to the side, and now my yoke animations are correct. 😈
  12. When you are in the walk-a-round, and you get to the "behind wing" stations, when you click on the aileron -- there will be an adjustment option on the right-hand side of the walk-around screen.
  13. I had a hell of a time trying to get the correct calibration set up. The LH lever worked sort of ok ( a bit jerky) but the RH one would hang at 50% for a good degree of arc before rapidly jumping to full thrust. The MSFS assignments were correct and the sensitivity graphs showed nice smooth movements throughout the range. I deleted the the Fenix A320 profile in FSUIPC but no change in behaviour. Ultimately I removed the whole FSUIPC .in file and everything was fine. I put the file back in so I can use it for other aircraft types, but in the meantime, until I discover what in FSUIPC is causing the issue, I now select the disconnect from MSFS in the FSUIPC option menu when I use the FNX A320.
  14. Historical AI is provided by PSXT/RT.
  15. Ha. You're welcome. 10 years later huh! πŸ‘
  16. "Data subjects must be allowed to withdraw this consent at any time, and the process of doing so must not be harder than it was to opt in. (Article 7(3))" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Data_Protection_Regulation I agree with you. just as illegal as not disclosing any company address, tax number nor general manager name on their web site. say intentions for doing anonymous business. no thanks
  17. https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=orbx+new+zealand+mesh+msfs https://forum.orbxdirect.com/topic/217215-information-regarding-nz-mesh-for-microsoft-flight-simulator/ https://www.flightsimulator.com/world-update-xii-new-zealand-now-available/ They could have mentioned the actual mesh resolution in the release notes. Been flying a lot in NZ lately and I don't think I've noticed any morphing (Orbx mesh not installed). Might have forgotten about it though, as my memory tends be be at the level of a goldfish* nowadays. *Might be worse than a goldfish actually: https://www.amnh.org/learn-teach/curriculum-collections/young-naturalist-awards/goldfish-as-a-model-for-understanding-learning-and-memory-more-complex-than-you-think#:~:text=However%2C my initial research showed, for at least one month.
  18. If i recall correctly, it was recommended by Asosbo to remove the Orbx mesh since the first NZ update
  19. so nice and artificially intelligent that they all work from some anoymous L.L.C showing no company address, nor a general manager/director on their web site. they don't adhere to GDPR? but they require your name and credit card info. no thanks.
  20. I owned 4. From 2006 to the last one in 2016. Each generation got worse! My first in early 2006 was awesome. Before Dell wrecked the brand!

  22. If some bright spark can figure out historical AI traffic, we’ll be apples (as I believe the Aussies say…?)
  23. If it was just a link I wouldn't bother to click on it. As it is I usually just skim through the screenies. Mmm, very nice. Next!
  24. Wow, been flying it in Southwest Germany all day for 3-4 hours. Normally I fly airliners and turboprops, but there's something about the low and slow, VFR scenic flying that I quite enjoy. Couple of issues that I encountered: sometime during the flight I stopped getting signals from VOR stations when using the "pseudo-autopilot", it adds max rudder, causing airspeed to decrease like in the 146, sometimes I have to click buttons 3 or 4 times before they respond The VOR and autopilot issues went away after starting a new flight. Took a while to get used to the SL30 – COM 1 / NAV 1 radio, but the operations manual is excellent. 82 pages! EDIT: It seems an update was released while I was flying. Not mentioned in this thread though. Are people using another thread to discuss the Tomahawk? *confused*
  25. Been flying with 8881 all day without any issues. Set both download and smoothing at default (30/50), seemed to work well. All settings are default actually as I uninstalled-reinstalled for 8881. Realism mode and preset mode. Been using historical weather a lot, works great! Very useful for flying in daylight with correct weather. I even figured how to use it with simbrief: https://forums.hifisimtech.com/threads/how-to-setup-simbrief-for-historical-weather.14883/#post-66780
