Ben Supnik, of X-Plane Developers, has announced the release of WEB V1.2 BETA 1. WED 1.2, the WorldEditor, was previewed at the X-Plane conference a few weeks ago in Columbia, South Carolina. X-Plane developers describes some highlights: Finally, a real airport import dialog box – when you import a dialog box, WED will let you pick a subset of airports to grab. So now you can open the entire apt.dat file from Robin and just pick the airport you want. There is now a library preview pane for objects, autogen scenes (.AGP files) and draped polygons. WED 1.2 supports all of the new v10 overlay editing extensions, e.g. forests as tree lines, facade wall-type control, etc. You can read more about the WED and download it from the X-Plane Developer's site here.

I'm sure I grabbed your attention with that thread title, but no kidding here, you can increase your FPS with a simple dataref change. First, make sure you have DataRefEditor installed. If not, you can go here for it: http://developer.x-plane.com/tools/datarefeditor/ Once you are in XP11, have a flight scenario started, go to your upper menu and select Plugins->DataRefEditor->Show Art Controls You should have a transparent window that appears, which is the dataref overlay. Place your cursor at the bottom left of the window (there is a text input area in this region), click there and type fft_water. This will filter the dataref listing to display the entry you want to edit. Once you see the "reno/draw_fft_water" dataref, click on the value shown (should be 1), and change it to '0'. Now close the dataref overlay, which will bring you back to your main screen. If you have your FPS data shown (if not, use CTRL+SHIFT+F), the FPS should have increased. The amount of increase may vary, depending on the scenery, aircraft, geographic location. In my own personal test, I found a 10 FPS increase, but your increase may be higher. Be aware that this change will only work per session, unless you create a Lua script and place it in the appropriate directory so that it will activate every time you run X-Plane. This little tip can be done by following the above steps, or you can simply download the Advanced Render Settings, which is here: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/36925-rendering-options-for-xp11/ As is always the case with manipulating datarefs, there can be downsides, and in this case, what you have effectively done is eliminate the animated waves on the water, so you will be left with calm, featureless water. If you don't mind this change, what you will gain for FPS makes up for it.

I do apologize if this has been addressed, but I'm finding the headshake (or bodyshake) feature a bit annoying. As soon as a flight starts, I get a wobble in the camera, as if I am floating. After that, it gets worse, with a lot of shake during takeoff, as well as during flight with winds. I don't mind a little realism, but this shake is annoying and I can't find anywhere in the settings to turn it off. The shake can get bad enouhg that I will get skips or stutters every so often, even if my view hasn't changed, but it's just in the cockpit. If anyone knows what to do or has any insight on this, please feel free to contribute.

I realize there isn't a proper forum for X-Plane aircraft repaints, so here is what I've done for a somewhat real-life livery. JetSuite operates private jet service, and I thought this repaint would look good on the Eclipse. This is my first real repaint that I followed through on, including some nice red leather seating too. Comments are welcomed and if there is a call for it, I'll try to see how to upload it to the library.

Hello!) fellow community! Its time for me to get myself another simulator, and what I initially thought was getting p3d. It seemed like the proper choice to make.... but after seeing how good the x-plane iS, I am kinda puzzled as to which simulator to buy. I mainly use GA aircraft and would appreciate the actual aircraft modeling + nicer graphics above everything else. Well; can you guys give me some input as to why x-plane is better than p3d, and just compare the strengths of those two. cheers

Following on from my previous flight (http://www.avsim.com/topic/497454-low-and-slow-in-france/), I take the Alabeo R66 from Lorient, up to Brest and then to the Island of Ouessant. Starting out at Lorient, I take a flight over the center before following the N165 motorway towards Quimperle and along to Brest Brest visible in the distance Passing over the river into Brest Flying over the city and west over the sea towards Ouessant Settling down it a field and enjoying the sunset

Anyone in here using Logitech G940 with X-plane? I'm an FSX user and just recently tried the latest Demo verison of X-Plane 11 but my G940 is not recognized. When I go into the settings to calibrate, the only thing I'm aloud to do is configure pitch and roll for my joystick. Throttle and rudder equipment's are not recognized. Furthermore, the axis for roll does what the pitch is supposed to do and vice versa. Any ideas or fixes?

Dear all, Does anyone uses the external FPS limiter for the Radeon graphics card on the Windows 10 operating system? If so could you please share your experience with the rest of the community about setting it up in Windows 10 and a like. The reason I'm asking this is that before Windows 10 I could use the software Radeon_external_FPS_limiter (found it on Boyote tweaking site), but since Windows 10 the mentioned software doesn't work. Also is there some other similar software that could work on Windows 10? Thank you all in advance for the helpful tips and suggestions. Safe simming Marko

X-Line Virtual Aviation is a new virtual airline for X-Plane pilots. Currently we have 21 planes in our fleet, and offer 800+ routes across the whole world. We also allow charter flights, so everyone can fly their favorite aircraft on their favorite route. We use the new VAM software, including the SIM ACARS. This gives us the oppertunity to log the complete flight, including all kinds of extras, like landingspeed, lights on/off, taxispeed, etc. As soon as PMDG releases their DC6 for X-Plane, we will add it to our fleet, along with some historic routes. We are working on a shared-cockpit function. Check out our new website and join this nice new VA: www.xlinerva.com Kind regards, Johan Wijnands CEO
