P3D 3.0 Speculation & General Nonsense

Featured Replies

Ah, but what if its "girlfriend now, versus no VAS issues at some point in the indeterminate future" ?  :db:

Would you still make the same choice ?

Because that's where we are right now.

P3D is your girlfriend. She's at 2.5 right now. New Girlfriend 3 may come along tomorrow, net week, next month or several months down the line. Or never.

I honestly dont see the point in denying yourself the pleasure of your girlfriend because you hope a better one may come along.

And if you disagree, show this to your girlfriend and watch how quick you won't have the choice....  :P  :vava:

Now we are speculating on Fi5kus's love life :Tounge:       Look folks, its simple,  P3D is your life partner,  Girlfriend/wife is your mistress

Moving swiftly on............Speculating or not

Does any one have any secret information (P3d) they would like to confess

Even something they might of heard

Yes.

If I had to chose between my girlfriend and no VAS issue, I would choose no VAS issues.

No just kidding. Or am I ... ?

:D I think alot of people secretly admit that ;) But you have to be careful with those claims in an open forum :P Your name is not really common and Anja might not like what you say here :)

Haha, someone's been lurking on Facebook  She knows what she signed up for in this relationship  A future where I am economically ruined because of a full-scale 737NG simulator is very imminent.

But jokes aside - I've read several claiming v3 will have improved VAS usage of that similar to FSX:SE, but I have never seen any link/reference.

Well if she stays with you allthough you dropped the "full scale" word, she is most definately a keeper :D

Rob has mentioned, of course hypothetically, that something like this is likely ;)

A hypothetical scenario was outlined where the possibility of being able to fly around with lots of detailed addons installed without suffering OOMs was suggested. I didn't install version 2.5 because it didn't offer enough for me to make the reinstallation torture chamber worth visiting, but if this hypothetical claim regarding P3D v3 has substance, then it looks like the delights of "the chamber" might be worth enduring

I am interested in trying it again after 3 comes out. The first versions I tried did not have SLI sorted and ran worse than stock FSX on my pc.  As for 64 bit I just got an out of memory crash on X Plane yesterday so not sure that will really help much.

How long is a piece of string? No-one knows! Maybe their corporate clients are beta testing as we speak?

Adam Breed stated on August 12th in response to a question regarding V3 release date:

"Thank you for your question. It is a question we get often, but we are unable to provide a release date at this time.

Keep a look out at Prepar3D.com for updates!"

Surely, frivolities aside, that's all we need to know and, moreover, ever likely to be told. Sadly, my prediction was wrong...I wonder why?

Mike :)

I guess constant questions about release dates is a good sign when you think about it. It's when people stop asking about your product that a developer needs to worry

You get an OOM when your RAM is actually isn't enough , not because the simulator can't handle more than ~3.5GB (32bit) although you still have plenty of free memory.

Are you sure about that ?

Thats totally wrong. How can I get an OOM if I have, lets say 32GB RAM, yes that´s because my sim can not address RAM above the limit at about 3,5 GB. The physical RAM-size above about 4GB has nothing to do with OOM:s.

You are confusing RAM with address space and Video RAM.

OOM has nothing to do with the amount of available system RAM

OOM has nothing to do with the amount of available video RAM

Address space has little to do with the amount of RAM but everything to do with the OOM

OOM is caused by address space saturation.
