Orbx announces new projects

Hi guys, I am very pleased with the proposed further release for the PNW. Canada is great, as this area has not been covered by any scenery really, and very excited about New Zealand, - I have been thinking for a while what a great scenery project this would make, but I could find no good source imagery to use. There is also a gap in what is available for the middle section of the western USA, Colorado being only partially covered by existing scenery products and Idaho / Wyoming not at all, so the proposed north and south Rockies is cool. Not sure about all those airports though, could end up mighty expensive....Cheers,Mark

As i say, it's only a guess. It would seem logical though...hopefully an ORBX guy can confirm.

Thank You!!! Wow! Fantastic, great idea to link up with Tongass Fjords!

Great scenery choices!!Orbx are scenery pros - they know instinctively what areas are most worthy of a good representation.

A little sneak peak @ the aircraft they're doing,Looks like single engine, maybe Bonanza? The gauges look spectacular!! I'm very excited about The North/South Rockies!! What/Where is Pacific Fjords?
The Bonanza has 4 windows on the side, not 2. Nice try though!AFAIK, the Carenado Bonanza is the only one in the works now. There was something going around at A2A on one of the podcasts that discussed a V-tail, but I don't know if they are actually building one.We badly need a modern Bonanza. A G36 would be hawt. Like with the Flight1 G1000... :(

Wow this will get pricey quick. 50 bucks for a little chunk of the USA will add upI guess it must sell cause they are making it!

This is good stuff. I hope the area will connect. The PNW is the only reason I reinstalled FSX. Now I am flying low and slow all over with my J-3 Cub Accusim and Cera Bell 412. No airline AI so I probably will skip KSEA and KPDX. These sceneries are incredible. I have now added Darrington. I am spending way to much :( Can't wait to see what comes next.

I am chomping at the bit for Orbx Florida, there are no really good sceneries for FL, and it's my home state.C'mon John make it happen!
Me too, especially south Florida. I would love it if they would do from Ft. Lauderdale all the way down to the Keys.

I'm the weasel who always complains that add-on prices are too high, but I have to admit that the PNW scenery is a very fair deal. If we can get from Edwards AFB to Whitehorse at an Orbx level of detail, I'll shell out. What I would love to see is Orbx Ellesmere Island. Oh my... :(

I'm just flying for the fun of it.

There's a lot of potential customers in the northeast between Maine and Virginia. Lots of major metropolitan areas with lots of fat wallets. The mountains of New England, the Appalachians in Western PA and West Virginia, the coastal regions, Chesapeake Bay, the Finger Lakes, the eastern great lakes. That's got to be popular with all the eastern simmers. As excellent as PNW is, making a jump to the opposite side of the US seems like a move that would be financially advantageous for Orbx. Plus besides modeling the cars and trucks, Orbx will have to model horse and buggies for Pa. Amish country with a long string of vehicles behind the buggy.

My quess for the aircraft is a Lancair IV-P

I've learned that flying over good scenery beats flying in familiar areas with only default, or partially enhanced scenery anytime!
Exactly my feeling. I actually find flying in unfamiliar territory much more exciting - sort if like being on some flying vacation :(

:( been there, seen that LOLI would love to have northern east coast like PNW, lots of work i guess :( i wonder if it would be easier now, like if textures from PNW can be re-use elsewhere in the rest of Canada nad US....

That's what I would guess as well...

I'm from Daytona, and would love an Orbx Florida too. I'd buy that in a heartbeat. Actually, I'll probably buy anything they put out :(

When i 1st read about Sprit flyer spending 20 hours on tweaking i just shook my head and said' holly molly' this new Orbx and new scenery is shinning a whole new light on our simming future and tweaking with what's coming out . This is just the begining and i'm sure Orbx will be available in time to cover all America and more.
If you haven't listened to the latest FS Break podcast, the ORBX team thinks it would take more than 20 years to do all of N America. It took more than a year to do the NA Blue scenery alone.
