Carenado C90 released

Featured Replies

Is this the C90GT?

No. C90B. -21 PT6s. I tried it, didn't see the anemic climb performance to the degree that Warp did. I got about 1500 fpm @ 143 knots ISA. It is fun to fly, especially in weather. The A/P on approach does a better job than I anticipated.

If you are talking about the red marker on the torque gauges, I see the needles go past the redline before I hit the maximum travel on my Saitek throttle quadrant.

I've been able to exceed redline by using the mouse to move the throttle levers... which means there's something wrong with my throttles (Saitek).... so, I retract my concerns regarding exceeding redline.

I am not sure if I am following you guys properly, but exceeding the red line torques is quite normal on a cool day.

I was stating I was unable to get it to do that... however, at this point it turns out to be my controller throttles not giving full range motion.

Er, obvious question but I have to ask - how many add-ons have you worked on using those throttles?

Did this thread move from FSX to Carenado while I was reading it or did I imagine it? Are there to be no release announcements in the FSX forum anymore?

Not that it matters, nor that it's of any true concern of yours... but none. How about you?

For 25 quid, I think the C90 was a bit of a bargain, it flies pretty much as you'd expect one to, the systems are close enough to please most people, it looks nice and has a VC that is full of stuff to play with, and it is about 350 grand less than a real one.

Al

Yes... 350 grand less is not too bad... not too bad at all... HOWEVER... if anyone is interested... I have a friend who might be able to cut you a great deal on a new C90 for about 4.4 million... depending on options of course. First fuel up is free of course.

I just got it... so I'm off to read PDF's

It's what you do when you get older... I wanna have some idea of what buttons to push before I cut in the taxi line with my new fancy turbo prop.

Well, that's good to hear that it isn't a problem with the aircraft.

I'm fairly happy with the default Avidyne avionics myself, even though I do have the RXP stuff, and do plonk it into some FS aeroplanes I have. I realise not everyone will be of the same opinion, but the navigational capability it presently has does enough to suit me, but you could have the 430's display on the VC panel and use its buttons as a pop up if you desperately wanted to, so even that's not a show stopper.

Al, a great line, lol. How true......

Must say that Avidyne gauge is a nice thing. Totally different to the ones I've known so far and pretty detailed on the features. And, thanks to Bert's work, that RXP gauge now is showing up in the VC and drives the AP. Am happy as can be and join in on the praises about the atmosphere in that plane.

You guys were right by the way, that improved sound environment changed a lot. Nice step from Carenado, very appreciated.

I flew a few TnGs around KSEA in the non-lite version and everything is fine on the fps. At least better than I've expected.

What is everyones opinion as far as the sound pack is concerned? I mostly fly the ngx so I have been kinda spoiled in that regard.

Unless I've missed it, but I cannot find any reference in the thread, so fellas, how does it compare to the Realair Turbine Duke?

Would like to know that too. Thinking about one of the two.

Already owning the B60T (with RXP530W integration) and it is fabulous, so waiting to see if this newest baby can be up to par with it...

Mathieu Souphy

Having owned other Carenados, I have to admit that while I appreciate the detail and realism of their aircraft, I can't help feeling that many of them lack that 'something' that makes me feel I'm flying a real aircraft. Maybe it's just me, dunno, but with the Realair Duke, I just can't stop flying her!! So to buy the C90, it would have to surpass Dukey by quite a margin, simply 'cos it's another twin.
