That is dumb dude..

You pay PMDG money for a service. So, you pay them $79 for the NGX and that's it? They must not give you support or anything after you purchase it?

No, as has been said you pay PMDG for the product in question. Once you have recieved your product your business with PMDG ends. They do offer support for the product as that is good customer service, and good customer service will keep people returning to buy more products.

The support is just an extra you get above the software. You are not paying for it, and LMDG could decide to stop all support for any product in their line at any time they wish.

An example would be how Microsoft decided to end product support for FSX.

Guys, can we drop this argument? OR at least take it into Private Message?

I don't think it belongs in the preview thread, so please take it away from here.

Merci

Now I know why AVSIM Staff monitor some forum threads. Some people just seem to want to start arguments....and I am talking about the response to Hirdy's post.

Settle down.. Hirdy thought the customers of products were investors.  They are not.  Where is the argument?

Thank you sir.  Finally some one who knows what they are talking about.

After more years with flight sims than I care to think about, I still cannot believe how worked up and acidic some people get over a computer game....

Resellers will offer it on disk (like Aerosoft), but there's no reason to wait for a disk version.  Just buy the download and burn it to a CD-R/RW or DVD-R/RW.  It's 2013.  There's no need to buy things on CDs any more than there's a need to go searching for things on 3.5" floppies.

Sorry for creating such a fuss.

Can't wait for the T7. I trust some more previews are on their way.

It may be 2013 where you are, over here it's nearly quarter past one in the morning.

I think the problem is may be the size of the download, rather than having a backup.  There are parts of the world where reliable high speed broadband is still a dream.  However a download manager will help a lot.

PMDG will probably offer a disk version eventually, but only after the initial run of post release updates is over.  That took a long time with the NGX.

FSX is a SIM, not a "computer game." :-P
