I'm tending to agree also. The price point is fine for enthused FSX fans but average Joe or light FSX people will never buy a functionality 'patch' for this much.

 

Look at Steam sales, their figures have proven low price with quantity wins out all the time.

 

Not to mention developers won't get on board and support DX10 properly if people have to spend an additional $34 to get it to work properly.

Does SweetFX work in DX10? Also I understand that AES vehicles don't work but what about GSX vehicles?

yeah..Although its worth $35, he could  maximize his profit by setting it in the $15 territory. Because his freeware does a lot of good already, plus it would also bring in more folks who never tried DX10 to try it out.

 

If he now goes and reduces it to $15, it would annoy the ones who alreeady bought it for $35.

 

Determining a price point for a product is tricky business.

He would only have to refund those at the higher selling price the difference back.  I think he actually, as well as Flight Sim.com would make thousands of dollars more at a $15.00 asking price.  As so many have said, and I agree...most would 'gamble' $15.00 to try out another angle to SEE if it would work for them. Anything much higher (P.O.....) and it would start entering the 'dedicated' to this FSX 'angle' territory. But, Steve thought of this...and obviously believes that he will net ample enough for compensation from those who buy in at the current and initial asking price.  I wish him much success in that regard!

Make it $64.00 and peoples would say that he would have attracted more peoples if he had priced his tool at $32.00, same if he had priced it at $16.00, peoples would say that he would have attracted more peoples with a $8.00 price.

 

To whom can't afford it right now, just wait, maybe it will come on sale at one point in time, in the mean time I'll be flying in DX10.

Read this thread from the start to your post and you will get the answer as it was already covered.

I apologize if this has been asked and answered elsewhere, but... is it still a straightforward matter to uninstall the fix if results aren't satisfying.  I seem to recall that with the freeware fixes, all you had to do was deselect DX10 in the FSX menus and restore the old NVidia Inspector profile and you'd be back to DX9.  The reason I ask is that I'm still on the fence about this one - I have a pretty good-running FSX under DX9 and I'm reluctant to go on another testing-and-tweaking binge.  Also, when I tried the freeware fix almost a year ago, I wound up with some performance problems (stutters when using AI) - though in fairness, that was an old, over-complicated install and something else might have broken that was unrelated to the DX10 mods.  In any case, if someone could advise whether there's an exit route I'd appreciate it, and if the exit route is easy to find I might just be willing to consider buying.  Thanks in advance!

I want every developer to make a living and charge for their work, but we are talking about a patch. If it was sold by Flight1, there would still be an opportunity to try with a refund iif you're not satisfied. At $33 I doubt many simmers would simply just give it a try.

 

Blame my frustrations on all the fine airports recently released by ORBX. :rolleyes:

Looks like it works independent of the fixer. Just put it back and restart FSX.

 

Rather than removing it, I just moved it into it's own scenery folder and flicked it on and off in the scenery library.

Buy it, Mark.  You can cross off another purchase.  This is the best one yet.  Completely new sim, yes the ground vehicles look normal.  I'm giddy as kid on Christmas morning.  I can fly at night with DX10!  WooHoo.

 

 

I have it but my ground vehicles at PANC are still grey/white.
