Prepar3d V2.0 entering beta

....and the EULA is now the main focus of discussion again

In my mind P3D 2.0 will forever be known as P3D EULA Edition

My post above as nothing to do with the Eula, it has to do with the validity of the leak, if real or fake.

Thanks for pointing that out to me. I wasn't referring to your post anyway.

It's 'has' not 'as'

Sorry, my mistake....

Hi Alan,

This is not directed at any one but just more of an observational posting in general about some recent threads/posts on avsim to do with p3d.

speculating about a product is great and about the features it may or may not have is fine even more so if the developers read the thread as they might think some of the wishes posted are worth adding to the product but when i use the word missinformation its the broken record factor that seems to happen, people lose the basic understanding of some words and invent thier own meanings to them and then it spirals out of control over interpretation of a simple word that never needed any interpretation. If someone does not understand the terms then they should take up the questions directly with the developer as they are the best people to answer the questions.

The Drama, thats an easy one as people seem refuse to accept what PMDG said and they need to get over it and go watch that chat they did a while back about the T7 and other things they might have planned and if they have questions to direct them to the pmdg team. All this vote with the wallet stuff is crap and nothing more than pure drama, if they dont want to buy an addon we dont need to know that as they should not come on to avsim crying about not buying an addon through their own choice as we all have freedom of choice to buy addons regardless of who makes them.

We all should be mature enough to move on from the silly things that keep going round in circles. Threads degrading in a bad way can lower the whole tone of the forum and to me the avsim forums is a place to ask for help when needed and have freindly chats with people who share the same hobbies.

Multi simming is the best option for me imo as i have only 3 aircraft installed on fsx now and the rest in p3d for slow and low flights which helps me learn :)

The fact that this thread is in imminent danger of being shut down gives me pause to ponder as to why and how such a thing can happen.

Alan

It seems that more threads in this forum have had that note added to the thread than in any other forum I frequent.

Why does it happen?   It seems to come down to one or two people, one in particular.  Every time.   Yes it is sad, for the rest of us.

Good post Paul,

I understand your point but the thing is that peoples choose camps to what ever will suit their own needs no matter what the facts may be.

As you said, PMDG made it clear as to why they took the decision to not support P3D, what happened after that is some peoples said that they will stick with FSX because they want to fly their favorite plane, other said that they will not support PMDG anymore because they want to fly in P3D only, and others said that they will use both platforms.

The rest were throwing a big fit because on the top of it PMDG and Flight1 made sure that you would not be able to use their new products with P3D without problems knowing full well that neither of these two company were supporting P3D, they do not care, they want what they think they are entitle to and that's where the drama start.

In general peoples just want to read or see what will suit them best, human nature, and that's where the repetitive stuff come back again, take the list for example, readers keep going wild over that list (real or not) of features they think LM will automatically and fully implement because they read about it, what about the other part that was posted above that list about the fact that there is no guarantees that Lockheed Martin will implement any of the individual Beta findings or consider any findings a requirement for the 4th quarter 2013 commercial release....

As we both said, speculating about a product to come is not bad in itself but some peoples get to emotional in what they believes in, or they think that their hunch is gospel, maybe they are right and maybe they are wrong but when you contradict or do not agree with them it become personal for them and they attack the poster with all kind of tag, agenda or else, and that's when Avsim's staff should intervene by reprimanding the offender and not by locking or deleting the thread, but hey! their forum their rules.

Looking Forward to P3D v2.0 and I believe LM is looking forward to me purchasing and using it.

Yeah it would be good if PMDG works out something for P3D

But why Flight 1 don't want to support P3D? I suspect because they are now focussing on their commericial arm...like the G1000 sim. They want that to be seperate (High cash flow items) and not be diluted with our stuff that would cannibalize their commerical channel.  In any case what has Flight 1 done  for FSX simming recently?  Other than their G1000 aircrafts, have they put out anything recently?

Flight 1 has been abset from FSX for a while now I think... Excepting for their G1000 aircrafts like I mentioned earlier. Am I missing something here?

Money talks. PMDG wants to stay in business. Xplane doesn't have the user base to keep them in business. If P3D2.0 is as revolutionary as this talk makes it out to be, PMDG will do what it can to be there. If P3D turns out to be awesome..... I'll probably buy the 300ER, but that will be the last PMDG product for FSX. I don't think I'd be alone with that sentiment.

PMDG will be on P3D at some point, they said as much, but we won't be the targeted market, and the price will reflect that!!!

Thanks

I don't agree with that. They're not gonna dump on the community that created their company. If we all flock to P3D2.0 in droves, they'll work out an entertainment license with Boeing and LM, and it will be priced as it's always been. I really don't think we'll see a "professional" PMDG product on P3D. They're good, but they're not that good. Who's going to buy a "professional" trainer on P3D? Airlines or ATP schools? Probably not, they already use real full motion simulators. There isn't a market for a $3000(guess on price who knows) PMDG 777 on P3D. It would be a slap in the face to all of us, and would be the end of my PMDG purchases. I'll be fine flying the occasional NGX or 777X flight on FSX, everything else P3D 2.0.

Flight1 iFly 737 also supports Prepar3d.

Boeing is becoming very active in simulator training- including the use of what they call "Flat Panel Simulators".

LM & Boeing are competitors. Therein lies a good reason for BOEING to not allow  the PMDG 777 to be used on P3D.

Do a search on "Boeing Flat Panel Simulator".

Interesting question is: What simulator software is Boeing using?
