If Microsoft is not selling their code, there has to be a reason. It's not like a petition will do anything.

I presume it's the same reason that Dragons supposedly hoard gold.

Why should they care about a very small but "vocal minority" in the wider scheme of things?

 

I cannot think of one valid reason that makes business sense for either company.

Easy...MS is worried about there bottom line...LM is worried about there bottom line...neither of which involves us unfortunately.

I cancelled out when I encountered the "donations" page.  No statement of where the "donations" would be headed or how they would be applied.  Caveat Emptor.

Well it shows why FSX will always be the platform of choice for the majority of simmers. 

 

With FSX there are no issues loading it up with third party add-ons (including PMDG aircraft) and attracting ALL developers who contribute to our wonderful hobby.

 

And, stability issues with FSX have now pretty much been fixed with various work arounds etc.

 

With P3D you are always going to be incumbered by restrictions.

It isn't a matter of whether LM "cares".  Good grief guys, this is business.  It's not LM's market.

 

I'm quite sure that MS sold LM the rights to exactly what they wanted - no more and no less.

 

Sorry, but this petition is both silly and naive.

No..if MS cared about us and FS they wouldn't have tossed us and ACES into the rubbish bin after so many dedicated years. And if LM cared about us, as a US defense contractor that has leeched billions of dollars in tax revenue, would atleast offer the academic license for free with free updates.
