July 9, 201411 yr UltraWx in EFASS is shaping up quite nicely on that front. It is indeed, and I would be throwing my money at them if they got it to work on Mac, even if it means networking from a Mac laptop booted into Windows. But no luck as yet it would seem. July 9, 201411 yr UltraWx in EFASS is shaping up quite nicely on that front. Although I like and use the EFASS dispatcher a lot I am not 100% convinced that Ultra WX is a step forward. It seems to differ a lot from RW weather metars and I suspect it causes the occasional crash (had 2 crashes yesterday, 3rd flight was fine after I went back to XP weather).
July 9, 201411 yr i bought the original skymaxx and I guess i'm about 50% impressed with it. I know they are different types of product, but what I really want is something as good as active sky next on X plane
July 11, 201411 yr C'mon y'all, it's just cloud shadows. You need to get out more. Bob Officially retired
July 11, 201411 yr Now if they could only sort out a decent weather injector Since Im no xplane "expert" yet...I was curious about this comment...was it meant to say that there is something wrong with the built in real weather feature of Xplane? Or do you simply enjoy using your own weather concoctions? Dave Kalin Excel Classes Computer Lessons
July 11, 201411 yr Is SkymaxxPro 2 a completely new product or an update to the existing one? Don't think they have figured out whether this is going to be a free upgrade or a paid new release, hence the V2 tag.
July 11, 201411 yr I read somewhere that it will be a new release and not an upgrade. July 11, 201411 yr I read somewhere that it will be a new release and not an upgrade. If true it would seem kind of premature to release it as a paid upgrade since it's only been available less than a year.
July 11, 201411 yr Looks very nice but I really hope that this isn't going to be another full release. Since I already spent a lot of money on SkyMax 1.3, it's quite expensive. :( I hope it will be an upgrade to existing users. However I'm very happy to see cloud shadows now, and it looks amazing! Agreed, based on the quality of all the other features in the product. I can't trust that it will work correctly. They are trying to give you the world and not perfecting any of it. Since Im no xplane "expert" yet...I was curious about this comment...was it meant to say that there is something wrong with the built in real weather feature of Xplane? Or do you simply enjoy using your own weather concoctions? The weather in X-plane is actually good in my opinion. The problem however is that upper level winds are all calculated internally. So you have METAR data feeding the ground level and generating exceptional looking and accurate weather but when you climb, it's not using real world upper level winds. So really, if they added that native functionality, then all you really need is something like Skymaxx to improve the appearance. Jim Shield Cybersecurity Specialist
July 11, 201411 yr The other problems with XP's weather is that you can have an OVC layer above your aerodrome, or even a BKN one, and, as you climb to higher levels there is an altitude at which you can look down and see the ground as if there were no clouds at all - CAVOK!
