I did some tests with my system (i7 3930K @3.2GHz, GTX Titan, 16GB RAM) using the following aircraft at EDDH (German Airports):

Are you using unlimited fps - if not that may be the reason why - but I have only tested PMDG T777 - 737 not loaded yet

Ah just noticed your not over clocked - thats a good reason to - my cpu is at 4.5ghz - I wouldn't even attempt to run flightsims without an OC

Did some tests in my standard testing scenario (PMDG 777, Aerosoft EDDF at holding point of runway 07R, same date and time and weather in all cases):

AM=255 (4770K, all cores on), OPTIMIZE_PARTS=0 ----> 34.4 fps, 8% fps variance

AM=84, OPTIMIZE_PARTS=0                                     ----> 36.2 fps, 8% fps variance

AM=255, OPTIMIZE_PARTS=1                                   ----> 46.5 fps, 8.5% fps variance

AM=84, OPTIMIZE_PARTS=1                                     ----> 49.0 fps, 8% fps variance

FPS numbers are average fps after 3 minutes in the VC. Both tweaks (AM, OPTIMIZE_PARTS) have no impact on VAS. Even though the AM=84 improves fps a bit, I'm not sure if it introduces slight stutters and slower texture loading. Have to do more testing on that. But the OPTIMIZE_PARTS tweak is definitely a keeper! Great find!

I tested this more and get more cores working full out and faster texture loading when switching views when I took the AM out, lol

So am now AM free!

Virgin p3d.cfg file here - no need to change it - this is not fsx tweak waste my time folks - I will admit my only complaint is the AA they need to look at that

                            Optimize_parts=0                  Optimize_parts=1
PMDG 737             16 - 17 fps                              18 - 19 fps

iFly 737                  14 - 15 fps                              15 - 16 fps

AS A320                 17 - 18 fps                              18 - 19 fps

One could say that the tweak gained 1 or even 2 fps on these aircraft - but that is all. I therefore can not share the great enthusiasm!

I have to agree with Richard from an earlier post. Try overclocking your CPU.  That should give you way better performance. Then you can join in the real benefit of this tweak.   :)

At what clock?

Are you using unlimited fps

Sorry, I should have mentioned that for this test I changed my setting to unlimited fps (normally I have it on 23fps).

I figured that but just stating the obvious - thanks get your pc overclocked day and night performance all around not just simming

I have testet a saved flight with the 777 in klax and with the NGX at EKCH. The fps did not drop below 20 but i noticed that the gain not stays at 25-30%.I have normally 17-18 fps on approach to Klax 24L and now 20-21 fps. Still improvement but now only 10-15%.Michael

Before I start overclocking my CPU I would rather reduce my settings within P3D B) .

My framerates may appear to be on the lower side but P3D runs very smoothly with them, so I do not bother. Such framerates with my old FSX would be like a slideshow but as I said, it is very smooth with P3D.

This is the one tweak to rule them all !

Great find. Have never before experienced smoother takeoffs in PMDG 777.

seems strange that such an FPS improving tweak is not mentioned anywhere I can see by LM or PMDG,after all they must be aware of the free  performance increase available in  their product,may be they are all sitting at home trying it out as we type

peter,

Yes,  it makes me wonder too. Why is it deactivated (=0) by default. And just to be curious, why is it not mentioned by LM officals as it is not a hidden cfg entry like AM or FTFF. I don't want to be too pessimistic but hopefully there is no penalty that we did not yet recognize ...

I think lockheed martin should really consider this found seriously, because it is not mentioned on their performance tuning guide !
