Why is the plane lit up like it's daytime in those night shots?

I think that was from the older alpha build.

Night time stills from the beta are much darker. Unfortunately, there's still only one video on youtube of the beta and no footage at night.

Jordan King has some beta video but his Facebook account and twitch stream seem to be top secret. :unknw:

Sorry, but you and others here seem to operate with a binary logic. Basically you are reducing the field of options to a either...OR matter.  If DTG Flight Simulator will be considered acceptably good

We'll all know for ourselves, soon enough, I guess......

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

From what I have seen, the light effects are a little exaggerated at night....the aircraft has a lovely shine to moonlight and other light sources but can be a bit too accentuated. I believe this has been raised with the DTG team as well so it is not worth stopping there until we see what they do about it at release time.

It does feel like this is a practice run for their major Simulator to come at the end of the year so maybe once a few features are in place they may call development complete, who knows. The light effects external and internal are obviously more complex than what was offered in FSX or FSXSE....the transition to Dusk was quite nice, it doesn't quite show in the screenshot I took of the Preview article on the front page but it was nice.

As an entry point to new simmers, this should be quite a good product.

I just want to know one thing guys! I'll be 52 on May 22 - will I go soaring or will I be able to start DTG Flight School on my home paradise ( that great i5 2500 + GTX 960 running the Mighty Win 10 Pro 64 bit and DCS + Aerowinx PSX *** only ***, waiting for DTG Flight School and then, latter this year, early 2017, the DTG Flight Sim... ).

Will it be released on time to the party ?  You're all invited, btw - bring your pillows!!!!

Not a simulator by any standard. I dont see this as any real alternative to P3D/FSX/DTG/X-Plane/ etc...

Agree with you there. It was more the quality of the visuals that blew me away. I seemed almost real. I didn't pay much attention to the technical details in this case.

DTG Flight School Preview Episode #4

"In this fourth episode Novawing24 takes on some varied weather at dusk and dawn to explore more of the upcoming experience."

This last video is still the Alpha Version.

9800X3D@H150i // Msi RTX 5090 Trio OC // 64GB DDR5 6000mhz CL30 // 2TB + 1TB Nvme

Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick Airbus // TCA Quadrant Airbus // TFRP T.Flight Rudder Pedals // Logitech Flight Multi Panel

I certainly hope it's the Alpha version. The texture "bleed through" problems on take off need to be addressed, and that linear "haze line" is very ugly. Considerably better blending is required there.

It is the alpha, although it was posted a day after the beta was released. You can tell by the numbers in the bottom right side of the screen at the very start of the video.

Here's the beta in the only publicly available video. Alas, the haze effect is still weird, the clouds don't fade into the distance (as they would with haze) and the sky colour is completely unaffected by it.

No blending visible as far as I can make out.

Why the heck are they still previewing Alpha version? Lets move on to Beta. Its couple weeks away from release.

And why is there still no rain effects on windshield in a revamped sim . This should be fundamental now. DTG has it in their train sim and truck sims.

Oh theres the beta build finally.
