It depends on what resolution you intend to run the sim, 4K go for 3090, otherwise 3080. On the 3090 page just click ‘system requirements’ ps the 3080 also has the same stipulation....... I have an Phanteks Revolt Pro 850W (Seasonic) that has six separate CPU/PCI outputs, I can highly recommend this high-end PSU. September 2, 20205 yr For the tech guys. I’ve got a 4790k am guessing no matter what 3000 series I go for am going to have to upgrade my whole machine?

Owned a AMD Radeon HD 6990 (single card, dual GPU) - It performed like word not allowed and Carenado could have sampled audio from it for one if his turboprops it was so stupidly loud. After that SLI 680's... And.. Yeah, this is about the time Nvidia really set into motion to start barely supporting SLI and the point I stopped buying into the hype and just buying brute force single cards at a premium. If you can wait a couple of more months though, I would wait and see what Big Navi has to offer. Even if it's not the superior solution, it could lead to NVIDIA responding with price cuts (it will be too early for yet another Super refresh). They did it before with the GTX 680 and the GTX 780, the last time AMD were somewhat competitive. Couldn't that go the other way around? I don't know the reason for it, but the old 2080's increased in price either. So when Big Navi can not deliver, NV might increase their prices?
September 2, 20205 yr The 3070 will most likely be good for msfs I reckon, if it does turn out to be a bit faster than a 2080 ti, though the 3080 will obviously provide that bit of extra headroom (especially with the faster vram) which is never a bad thing. That also depends on what sort of cpu it’s being paired with obviously. There will be an interesting choice for some people now I reckon - I wouldn’t be surprised if the 3070 is in the same price ballpark as the Xbox series x when it comes out... will be fascinating to see how the performance of all of these things compares.
