It specifically tells  you on the nvidia site....

Sorry, still not seeing it under the specs for the RTX3090 being released on the 24th of September. Nothing about each of the two 8pin connectors needing a separate cable from the power supply. Link please.

Big Navi:  So, good news from Nvidia... But, where are we with AMD's Big Navi ?  Will it be better, the same.. or ?

Placed pic above, taken from nvidia website. On the 3090 page just click ‘system requirements’

ps the 3080 also has the same stipulation.......

So does this mean current PSU's won't work?

They can if they meet the requirements both above posted and their power ratings.

3090 is gonna be a killer on 4K (which I have).  I can do 8K if I want...I have a now a 4 4K monitor wall (used to be 6 4K monitor wall but 2 monitors went to the office).  I need that power in VR especially for DCS.

I just hope LM kicks old code goodbye from Prepar3d so that it can take full power from the card.

MSFS2020 works awesome in 4K with 2070 Super but I bet it is gonna be more awesome with the new card.

It has been recommended in the past to use two dedicated PCIe-8 pin if you have that flexibility with your power supply.  Appears now to be required.

I'm very pleased that I resisted the urge to upgrade my 1070 with any of the 20** series cards now, my only real dilemma now is whether to basically get an equivalent 2080TI GPU for £469 or pay another £180 and get the next level up card?

If you are playing at 4K I would recommend going for the RTX 3080, it is not a bad value, and the RTX 3070 could perform worse than the RTX 2080 Ti at higher resolutions due to less memory bandwidth. If you can wait a couple of more months though, I would wait and see what Big Navi has to offer. Even if it's not the superior solution, it could lead to NVIDIA responding with price cuts (it will be too early for yet another Super refresh). They did it before with the GTX 680 and the GTX 780, the last time AMD were somewhat competitive.

Maybe there will be a few 2080Ti’s up for sale at good prices though....

Lol, I feel bad for whoever bought one. They probably went down 75% in worth since this morning.
