September 16, 20205 yr 4K user here with a 1080ti so the upgrade will be worthwhile for me. I’ve been struggling, especially at night with my 1080ti. In total : if you do not use 4K or are satisfied with 30 FPS you do not need to replace your 2080 (Ti) by a 3090 So true!!! Chris Camp

Flight sims aren't exactly fast action games, and most of the time I don't really notice when P3D is running at an average of 40 - 45 fps in VR and reprojection make up for the missing frames. OK, sounds promising. Does that work in Reverb G2? I thought spacewarp was an Oculus thing? Edit: I noticed that it is part of Steam VR. Hopefully it will be introduced in the MS Store version of FS2020 as well. Edited September 16, 20205 yr by flightsim1818

September 16, 20205 yr There is no way on earth that I am going to upgrade my Graphic Card without upgrading my CPU... the two are so linked together in this sim that updating one without the other seems pointless, because you will either lock the CPU if the GPU is too high end, or lock the GPU if the CPU is too high end. Unless you are going to go ahead and balance the CPU/GPU/Board and memory all at the same time, I don't see that you will achieve much (if any) improvements, you will just create stutters. Best results on any of the forums from people is where the system is balanced throughout and one part is not in advance of the others. At least that's what it seems to me, and I certainly don't believe some of those figures, because i am exceeding those frame rates quoted with same settings, so not convinced with those figures at all. Graham System specs... CPU AMD5950, GPU AMD6900XT, ROG crosshair VIII Hero motherboard, Corsair 64 gig LPX 3600 mem, Air cooling on GPU, Kraken x pump cooling on CPU. September 16, 20205 yr Thats an excellent video - thanks - I think it will get better when the sim is optimized by developer Rich Sennett
September 16, 20205 yr I think this shows that the 3080 will be a great upgrade from a 1080 to be able to run at 1440p ultra settings, but a 3090 would be total overkill because the sim is definitely CPU bound at that point.
