Carenado Mooney Update

Added a little Mooney sticker to my bird.....thought she should have "Mooney" on her somewhere (not that its hard to pick a Mooney out of a flock of GA aircraft on a ramp). 🙂

I gotta figure out how to edit my own liveries.

The current MFS implementation notwithstanding, here's one of several instructional videos on using the Garmin 530.  Your results in MFS may vary, there seem to be certain things that don't work right yet but this is how it should go, I've also had it just lock up by entering/deleting waypoints enough times.

Yea, the GS530 in the Mooney definitely doesnt work like that.. trying to clear a waypoint in the GPS clears the entire flight plan. Extremely frustrating.

I'll have to try again adding a waypoint in the midst of the flightplan, didnt work for me last time.

Still havent figured out how to select a waypoint and go "direct" to that waypoint.

I wished that the GPS get improved.

We are in dire need of the Reality-XP and Flight1 Garmins.

I miss my GTN 750 & 530 units. Even with the default garmin units I love using my keyboard to enter the identifiers.

Whomever decided to make the GNS 530 map track the way it does should be fired. 😀

Doh!  That is just the icing on the cake one that little bird - really sets it off!

I just can't do these kind of mods, so I will have to print out a Mooney logo and stick it on my yoke instead! 🥺

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

I love your signature!

You could do that, or if you ask very nicely, I'm sure the master @Steve Dra himself, would send you a livery.  I'd bug him for one, but I'm waiting until Asobo gets the livery and registration thing worked out.... then there's a pretty beige and brown 201 that I'd like to remember better.

Trying to alter flight plan mid flights is nothing short of painful on the default avionics.  What’s with the USER waypoint which makes joining an approach extremely convoluted.  Good luck trying to edit waypoints or going direct to!

I think you need a real GPS for that.

When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .

Isn’t that what we meant be simulating? 😂

The sad fact is that the current Garmin simulation is a warmed over version of the FS9 Garmin with old limitations, and new bugs added..

Hopefully, it will get better.. there are three groups looking at this:

1. Asobo, who now realize that what they shipped is inadequate and buggy

2. The Community, with keen and talented individuals trying to fix bugs and add enhancements

3. 3rd parties like RXP, who are impatiently waiting for the SDK to be improved to the point where they can begin integration efforts, like they offered for FSX, P3D, and XPlane..

.. and if that were not enough, the current autopilot is buggy, so that even a wonderful GTN750 could take you into a spiral dive when you least expect it.. 😉

It is frustrating for sure... the cockpits are nice to look at, the scenery is fantastic, and yet the avionics are subpar and buggy..
