iniBuilds A310 first impressions

So despite the WASM compiler issues and low FPS I decided to try a flight out in the "boonies" where scenery is light to bump up FPS.  I must say my first impressions are VERY NICE.  Once Asobo fix the WASM issue (hotfix surely?) I reckon this bird is going to be one of my favourites.

I completely agree.  For an initial release it’s a fantastic aircraft despite some teething issues I’m sure will be sorted quickly.  I don’t know what magic Asobo has pulled off with their graphics engine but even at a low 25 fps it’s still relatively smooth for me.

Just completed my first flight, LPPT-LPPD using the Air Azores livery.  In LPPT I had around 19fps steadily, but it was a smooth 19.  In LPPD I was hovering around 30, I was near 40fps over the open Ocean.  Certainly flyable but I can see how it would be a challenge at more FPS hungry airports/regions.

Overall I enjoyed the flight and managed to get from A to B in one piece.  There's enough ancestry from this aircraft (systems wise) in the A320 family (and A330 for that matter) that it all felt familiar yet different.  A lot of fun and I look forward to many more flights ahead.

On the flight model during the stream, https://youtu.be/OLZ02R6Yca8?t=8994
"I have be honest, I really like that flight model. You feel the weight of the airplane. You also notice the wings are made for a bigger aircraft, there is a lot of a300 in this. The flight model, I love it, I really love it, I think I can safely say that."

Final impressions at end:
"we have got an excellent, absolutely excellent aircraft .. the 310 is absolutely payware quality"
"the flight model feels good, is certainly fun to fly, the taxiing model feels believable"
"the vast majority of systems are working as they're supposed to do which is very nice to see, the pressurization system has some issues"
"VNAV was a little bit hot and high, but apart from that nice impressions and convincing"
"amazing cabin, best in the business"

James,

I had this issue at first.

It resolved after a PC restart for me.

Excellent, that got it. Thanks.

Ha 25 and I'm over the moon with my old lady rig.  As long as its stutter free, 25FPS is just fine.

32 is pretty bad for not even being at a busy airport

Unfortunately, as of now I have nothing good to say about this bird: as soon as I try entering a route, I get a CTD. Does anybody else have this issue? The help in iniBuilds FAQ is not that helpful...

Do you have an older set of Navigraph data installed for the base sim? Unfortunately this plane uses the game's built in nav data so if it is out of date that seems to lead to a crash.

The other possible reason is a custom airport causing the crash.

See here: https://forum.inibuilds.com/topic/6000-ctds-when-entering-information-into-fmc/?do=findComment&comment=22617

Updating my navigraph nav data fixed this crash for me. I had stopped updating the base sim nav data a while back because none of the planes I fly use it.

I am having the same issue and only have Flight planes,Panel states, options, simbrief in there. Maybe why it went into a death dive an hour into a transatalantic flight. it just rolled over into a death dive.and despite auto pilot disengaging there was virtually no chance of controlling it even manually.

I have tried re-installing it twice now with no difference, it still loads in about a minute at most from pressing fly.

Sure enough I just got a nasty CTD in the A310 after disengaging the autopilot. The A310 also breaks the taxi ribbon guide function.

It is just a quick and dirty first draft so that MCP Combo users can use the FCU.
For StreamDeck users, the FCU is also usable. But not much more.

Today I have flown with it (despite the annoying FPS issues), really no contest. It is super good and I find it better than PMDG (well let alone they have a proper cabin not just porting the plane from P3D) and competitor to Fenix.

I would be super happy to buy their A300 once is released and hopefully A380 (if is alive I presume?).

I cant agree with that. The Cockpit texture quality are not close to the PMDG or Fenix or FBW quality IMO.

At all....not even sure how one could draw that conclusion after sitting in the cockpit of the PMDG 737 and Fenix A320.🤔

No way, are you using the enhanced version?
