MSFS: “A Loss Of Trust From Our Player Community"

This guy's title of the video is over the top in the dramatic sense, but this is flight sim, I suppose.

An advantage of living in Hawaii is we tend to be out of sync with US mainland and Eur on these sorts of things.  By the time I download, most everyone has gone to bed!

And I thought the advantage of living in Hawaii is,    well, living in Hawaii.

cheers,

First world problem.  MSFS should not lose trust as a result of an update issue that was very temporary.  Some gamers are strange.

It... it was those pictures of Ali Landry that led up to everything - I promise to repent!  Again.

Sorry, everybody

I see this incident as more a dent in their reputation, aside the actual problems the persistent slow downloads issue is more serious IMO.

Anyway they lost my trust with the SU5 & SU7 debacles, they're slowly regaining it but have a long way to go before it's fully restored (not that they care what I think of course I am but one user in a sky of millions!).

Except for when your town burns down...

Mistrust or Paranoia is on the increase in the western world. It's getting easier to trigger mistrust and outrage in the general population.

Personally I didn't have any issues with downloading SU14. It was a bit slow at times but I've got time. I tend to save my mistrust and focus it on the real culprits......the invading lizard people from Alpha Centauri. Don't trust anyone who licks their lips.

I downloaded when i got home from work and gym. So yes the download speed would slow down a little for a moment or two then jump right back up. Finished my update in under 10 mins. I understand it can be a major pain if i couldn't get  the download done during the initial rush but ive always had something else to play if the sim is not working So i would have moved over to Forza or COD and waited till the servers were available.

For me the whole failure event analysis is very appropriate .... for the server people at MS to understand and act on. For the public a one liner explaining that there is a server slowdown or outage notice and an update on its resolution is enough. This moment of prostration to the public is unnecessary. But meh .. just my singular opinion. The masses need to get mad about something i guess.

But the updates are automatic.  So do you have to hold off flying in the sim for another time?

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.
