Message to Microsoft...you took the money now up your server capacity to provide the service so many paid for (all my other connectivity dependent stuff is doing fine)

  • For me that worked one time. But when the problem recurred next time it did not work. For me it seem more of a random event if we get stuck at checking for updates

Go to an Admin command prompt and type wsreset.exe.  This morning, an MS game services update messed it up, so this action just resets the Windows Store.  It cleared it right up for me.

Thanks but where is that ? , ? i just tried deleted (renaming) the whole community folder and then started the sim up in a split second

Seems for me, at least, the issue may be with the map enhancer as several times msfs has got stuck on checking for updates whilst using it but has loaded ok when it's not being used.

The Command Prompt is a built-in tool of Windows, not MSFS.  Just type Command Prompt in the Windows search on the taskbar.  Right click on it and start as Administrator.  Then type wsreset.exe.

Maybe review the link I posted too.  There are some other ideas in there.

Well, that wsreset.exe did'nt work. Here also stuck on checking for updates. Is there anything on msfs forums or on X about this?

Same here...

I'm stupid because after reading through this thread and decide I would not even try to start MSFS for an LPFR - GMMX short A320 op and instead go flying it in Aerofly FS 4 I couldn't resist and opened MSFS just to smash into the never ending "CHECKING FOR UPDATES" message...

Well - Aerofly FS 4 will do the job tonight and for sure much better flight dynamics wise :-)

The wsreset.exe worked for me.  That said, I installed the map enhancement tool for the first time just before starting up MSFS, and I cannot get that working (backend server error), but that's a different issue.

wsreset.exe did not work for me.  When I'm unlucky enough to hit the check for update screen, it easily adds 20+ minutes to my startup.

Check out my repaints and downloads, all right here on AVSIM

For me pulling out network cable helps. It will give you connection lost warning but will move to that required/available space screen, plug it in again, connection will be established and you will have continue button there which will lead to normal loading screen.

This worked for me. Thanks

Edit. Spoke too soon. Still stuck at that screen...

So there it is....my first and ever problem with MSFS since it's launch <- yes, this is correct!

Last days I got plenty of "unable to sync" messages and it was always the XBOX Gaming App that logged me out. Looking in the Store Updates I saw the last days constant updates to the XBox gaming app and the Gaming services (just today again).

So now I have my first stuck on Checking for updates screen. Nothing helps....

Anybody else having this?

I also experience these problems. First it was unable to sync and now stuck at checking for updates

I was stuck at checking for updates yesterday, I press ALT+F4 to quit and restart my computer, then it worked again.
