Convince me to buy the Fenix expansion?

Love the A320 but other than different sizes - is there anything that stands out to why I should purchase this?

Thx

Yeah. Four more aircraft.  A319, a321, and IEA and CFM versions. All for under $50.00 US.

Next question?

I am with Tony on this. I am not too interested in technical details like different size, payload, or engines. What would enthuse me is different flight options. The A321 LR can do trans-Atlantic flights, for instance, but I haven't heard that the A321 CEO was used in that role.

As for the A319, is there anything special about it except more economical flights on routes with low pax numbers? Shorter runways, perhaps?

Simple,

I honestly forgot the last time I had a casual non-fancy diner with my wife for the amount less than $50 with two glasses of wine and tips. So think of it as a skipped diner 🙂

9950X3D, X870E ROG CROSSHAIR HERO, Corsair Dominator Titanium 64GB DDR5-6000 PC5-48000, ASUS RTX 5070Ti 16GB, 9100 PRO 4TB Samsung ,990 PRO 4TB Samsung,  AX1600i 1600 Watt 80 Plus Titanium ATX, ASUS 360 ARGB EXTREME 360mm Liquid CPU Cooling Kit.

Sitting in all three and flying them, I see very little difference, and not worth spending the money. The 320 is fine.

I think the blog posted before release went over in differences with enough detail to inform the average consumer whether it is worth to purchase. After having used both the A321 and A319 i can attest to the accuracy of their statements..So there are no gotchas there.

All you have to do then is read, comprehend and decide for yourself. I think everyone who needed to make a decision decided to purchase or not purchase based on this information.

For me personally its worth it as i do notice the different flight characteristics and i want to match my flights with the correct equipment.  For you that may be enough .. or not.. but that decision is yours to make.

Even if you don't care about the specific differences between the variants, you should buy it as a ‘thank you’ for the Fenix team. Just think of the significant updates we received for the A320 for free. It's basically a completely different and rebuilt add-on than what came with the initial release. Not to mention the Sharklet expansion that is still to come, also for free. They've invested heavily into the A320, and if you ask me, they deserve all the support in the world.

Simply because there are several missions I'd like to use different aircraft for. That's why I also have the whole PMDG 737 lineup for MSFS (and P3D too). For example, you'll have a hard time sending an A321 to Paro or SBRJ, or an A320/A321 CEO doing SKBO-SUMU.

And well, because the price is right: $60 for the A320 only, or $110 for all 3 (around $37 for each bird). More than what I paid for Aerosoft for P3D (I know), but less than half of what I paid for FSL.

I initially thought the A319 and A321 would be quite similar to the A320, making it harder to justify the purchase. However, I’ve been having a blast flying specific A319 routes like SBRJ-SBSP. I also flew a longer route with the A321, and the difference is dramatic.

All in all, this is the best and most immersive Airbus package I’ve ever used, and I’ve flown extensively with both FSLabs and Toliss.

If your flying is a standard A to B, couple the AP at 400 ft and do an outoland (or even disconnect at 1000) then you should probably stay with the 20, as there are no new features added on top of what the base model has to offer.

If you intend to do more advanced stuff that involves failures and more hand flying then those three are quite different beasts in the same way that the 757 is different to the 767 or a 737-600 to say, a 737-900er.

I can feel the a319's lightness on landings. Also, the a319 can get into smaller runways than the 20/21. With the absence of a good regional jet I enjoy, the a319 could fill some of that need.

Thank you for taking the time to find a good answers vs the typical, "nah don't buy it" or "yeah just buy because it has xyz"

Fenix took the time to really spell all this out. I was sort of on the fence before this but thanks to you, it helped my decision.

Plus, I think I am getting close to being called a hoarder at this point.

I bought them upon release mainly as a token for my appreciation and support for Fenix. The A320 is my most flown aircraft in the sim and I will buy everything the team releases blindly, just because I enjoy the A320 so, so much.

And I just love how the team interacts with their customers. Except for Dave, he is weird.:D

No he shouldn’t. With all due respect, this isn’t a charity. He shouldnt spend money as an obligatory thank you unless he feels the same as you. Don’t tell people that. That’s ridiculous.

Only purchase them if you want the variants in your hangar.

they do fly a bit differently compared to the a320. You can feel the weight differences in how the planes fly through the air and behave on the ground.

To what Bob said though, they are still a common type which means at the end of the day, if you can’t pick out the handling differences, then it’s not worth the money.

I bought it because I wanted to complete my collection of the airbus family. A bit expensive in my opinion to do so but I can afford it.
