Therefore anyone and everyone can contribute should they see fit. Of course any code changes will still go through various stages of QA and require references for said change to be merged into the main code branch. Oh cool, so everyone can download the FBW A380, even if we're not contributing development/code to the project. Because a lot of people are going to download it, lol. October 22, 20241 yr Finally the private code of A380 will be opened. Excited about this AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 64GB DDR5 6000MHZ RAM, RX7900XT, FreeSync 165hz 1440p display

No need to mess with github if you have no plans of doing contribution work.

They've written it will be perfectly flyable on Vatsim (which is not something the payware (!) FSS E-Jets or the Aerosoft A330 can say...). For real. Abandonware garbage being sold while these guys can do it for free. Amazing.
October 22, 20241 yr This is going to be amazing. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 96GB DDR5 | 4K G-Sync | Win11 Pro
October 22, 20241 yr This is going to be awesome on day 1 and will be great to see it progress over the coming months/years. First proper A380 for flight simulation and freeware/open-source at that! Lots of great things listed in the features/capabilities section of the NOTAM, i.e. stuff like this bit that is gonna make this special: Additionally, a custom physics-based flex system for wings, rudder, and elevator has been implemented. The wings, simulated as soft bodies, react to fuel load, wing loading during take-off, and feature accurate and responsive dynamic wing flex. October 22, 20241 yr Lets just hope a multiple of donations follow through with this release because they certainly don't do it for free with time and resources ($) put into it.
October 22, 20241 yr Am so excited for the A380 (and my first long-haul aircraft in MSFS) that I've just ordered a second Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant to add throttle levers and engine start switches #3 and #4 to my Airbus quadrant. And yes, a donation will be made to FBW when I download the A380! 1 hour ago, lwt1971 said: Additionally, a custom physics-based flex system for wings, rudder, and elevator has been implemented. That's probably part of the reason why the FBW A380 won't be officially available in MSFS2024 at release. Perhaps this custom physics system will clash with the new sim's native one. Perhaps this custom physics system will clash with the new sim's native one. It's agnostic of the in-sims physics system. The reason for not being available for FS24 (officially) is because quite frankly no one has access to the new sim to test things out. You're free to try it out on FS24 before we officially give the go ahead and see what happens.
October 23, 20241 yr ...and from what I've seen and heard so far, it may be true that you can use most of the 2020 scenery/airports with 2024 without any problems. But with aircraft, it seems to be a more complex mattter (especially if you want to make the most of the features of 2024). Edited October 23, 20241 yr by Watsi

Perhaps this custom physics system will clash with the new sim's native one. Nothing to clash with: the FBW flex system is all from scratch, and following Asobo recent interviews, don't expect anything of the new 2024 "flex" stuff be available on plane, beside funny stuff like ad banners, ropes, firefighting stuff. Planes won't have any new flex system in 2024 and for at least couple of years as they said. So enjoy this on the 380, first time you'll get wing bending affected by fuel load and position in a sim.... and for quite some time I'd bet 🙂 Also for all the new systems SDK they will provide, it's really nice for integrated planes and small third parties that will definitely benefit from this, but what FBW simulate for bleed/pressure/hydraulics is way beyond what's coming for 2024 anyway, and also totally from scratch. October 23, 20241 yr Wow, I can't believe the day has finally (almost) come, it's so impressive that they've managed to pull this off. My utmost respect and gratitude to the entire team.
