Have both installed but using 2024 exclusively. I do APL2 flights in Free Flight and ignore the Career Mode, and I'm very pleased - for the most part. Yes, bugs and all irritate me but I can't go back to 2020.

  • Stil using MSFS 2020 : because Prosim and  Wideview are not MSFS 2024 compatible. But : reading all issues I am happy that I did not switch yet…

  • Becoming a beta tester wasn't in my plans, so I stayed with 2020.

  • From now on, let's all only post on subjects that interest me. Thank you for your cooperation.

Not really "flying" in 2024 as much as testing.

Wot he said…

Installed 2024 day one and have never looked back.  Works great for me.  I am not a VR user.

I now enjoy the JF RJ's, Fenix A320, DC6, Miltech Chinook, T33 etc and the majority of my plethora of 2020 scenery addons work great in the new sim.

See you later 2020.

I'm mainly in 2020 because my airliners don't work in 2024 yet. I don't want to bodge 2020 aircraft to make them work in 2024 either, I'll wait until the devs release 2024 versions that they're happy to support.

So far, I've mainly used 2024 to buzz around the scenery in the Cessna 152 which is great fun.

I'll switch as soon as possible, but I think it will be a long wait...

I've only been using 2024 but as I go I find even more bugs.  I still have 2020 but to drag and drop folders over for testing.  I haven't flown 2020 since 2024 was released.

And it's impossible to paint the default GA planes.  We hope to have a resolution for that soon TM.  So I'm not even really painting which is frustrating.

I have been using XP12 a little more and I did some paints for the TorqueSim C525 - a great aircraft!

Overall it's hard to go back to 2020 because of the visual difference and improvements to ground handling with aircraft, the amazing Honeywell avionics (some bugs but they are nice!) in 2024.

I'm kinda in sim limbo right now haha

edit:  Oh for VR it works okay in 2024 but with the latest performance bugs (too much ram and vram) introduced in the latest "patch," VR is just not very usable right now unless you're flying all default stuff.  Boring lol!

After reading all initial comments after the first MSFS2024 alpha-test version release, decided not to opt for buying it after all its nuances are mostly solved. In the meantime I continue to fully enjoy MSFS2020 and it looks to me that it'll be for a while...

Cheers, Ed

I don't know about "fully adopting" 2024 but I haven't flown in 2020 since around Dec 1

I waited until then to buy 2024, I figure I didn't have the patience to deal with the zero-day zero-bandwidth rush

I do miss the JF Tomahawk and I may fire up 2020 to fly it some time soon.  Some things are just not compatible right now so I see no reason to delete 2020 unless all of your things work in '24 or you just wanna move on.  But by the same token I haven't had any problems with 2024 so far.  No lockups, or problems in my limited time with it.

i have only used fs2024 for the last week or so. msfs2024_autofps working flawlessly and the sim seems to be currently working and running ok for me. i dont use career mode as i fly in free flight with apl2. can now use beyondatc again since i worked out i can map keyboard keys to change the transponder on the 737 max i have been having fun.

MSI Z790i Edge | i7-14700K | EK 360AIO | 32GB DDR5 6400mhz | nVidia RTX5080 | Acer Predator 34"

My plan was to run both, but I uninstalled 2020.

I'm just a GA flyer, so MSFS 2024 works great for me.  I definitely miss some addons, but it will be fun rediscovering them as they are updated.

I run my sim pretty vanilla and my problems with it are pretty minimal (I avoid career mode too which helps - putting a lot of time in that seems to be difficult at best with all the issues).

That said, I fully accept what I am getting into.  I go in with wide open eyes.  Updates are going to break things.  Early stages will be rough.

My point is if you moved to 2024 but are unhappy, why not switch back temporarily?  Give this sim another 2-3 months and see where things stand?

Make your choice, but own it.  Nobody is making you move to 2024.  Some of the whining I see elsewhere is really tiring.

24 is good and will get better, but I'm sticking with 20 until further notice.

There should be a third option for those who're using both 2024 and 2020, as I suspect most who have 2024 would fall into this category.

Not here - v2024 only.

But I still have XP, DCSW and P3D to tide me over if problems get too bad🙂

Where's the option of using both?

Or using neither?

since 2024’s launch, I haven’t simmed much at all. It’s all felt like more hassle than it’s been worth…and I truly loathe 2020’s initial loading times.

Needs to be a third option, a bit of both.  I suspect that’s where a lot of us are.
