I'm not experiencing any blurred scenery or studders and I'm running a 2080 with 12GB's of memory. I set my LOD to 150 to 200 and everything is crystal clear and sharp. i just completed a flight in the default Asobo helo 125 around Buffalo, NY, and when I hover over tress, I can see the leaves move from the rotor wash. Have used DX12 since day 1 in 2020 (with DLSS and DLAA). 2024 definitely running smoother for me. My card is a 3090Ti, and before that I was using a Titan RTX. For me a significant factor is VRAM, both those cards have 24gb, and I have certainly seen utilisation go up to 20gb in the past. Not sure about recent times as I don't monitor such stuff generally. I'd always rather have a GPU with more VRAM than a faster processor/number of processors. Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. December 23, 20241 yr My 2080ti is performing better in 4K. I can even have clouds at ultra now, something that was most of the times unplayable in FS2020 due to GPU bottleneck. I have screenshots with Rivatuner overlay stats since FS2020 alpha, I know it's not placebo. On my ancient machine (6 yrs soon), 2024 is performing better - not by a wide margin - but still. As always YMMV. EASA PPL SEPL + NQ / CB-IR in progress MSFS24 | X-Plane 12

When facts are known the problem also is evident with people trying run the game on antiquated PC's. Since MSFS 2024 is supposed to be able to run on an XBox Series S, I am guessing that it has been designed to run on "antiquated" PCs. In DX11, VRAM allocation and management is done automatically by the OS, which will ensure that a running game will not try to use more physical VRAM than is actually available. In DX12 it is entirely up to the developer to manage VRAM, and in a game where VRAM requirements are dynamically changing constantly, that can be very difficult to get “right” 100 percent of the time. Now if only they had it working in some sort of beta with a previous product for 3 years so they could get their heads around it, oh wait they did. Now if only they released a beta with the new product to make sure it worked correctly, oh wait they didn't..... December 24, 20241 yr VFR flights at the moment are perfect with FS24, waiting for fix regarding the crash of the inibuilds airplanes when exiting a flight. Also Fenix has some ram leak when sitting at the gates. Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).
December 24, 20241 yr I think it depends on the use you give to the sim... As a game, I enjoy it a lot, playing the weekly challenges reminds me of the great times I had playing similar challenges in MS FLIGHT. I haven't yet tried the Career mode, but I intend to give it a try one of these days. Then, on the "serious" / "core simmer" spirit side of the playing, I have been enjoying it more than FS 2020 because I use it with: - AS FS 2024 and RealTurb for better weather effects, and it get's really nice with their help; - FENIX A320, still the only available A320 CEO worth the use in FS 2024; - BATC injecting AI Traffic with liveries kindly provided by FSLTL; - Perfect integration with my Navigraph app and SimBrief; - A unique / like no other, view of the World everywhere I go with the FENIX to takeoff from or land at... With "just" this, and not a single CTD even in the medium course flights I've run, sometimes leaving the sim running and going out for shopping, returning more than 2 hrs later and finding everything simply perfect ! January 2, 20251 yr My use of 2024 is pretty limited in that Free Flight is the only bit I use, so my critical base is rather narrow. The aircraft selection is, in my view, 'odd'. The practice of assuming that everyone wants a personal registration grinds my gears. As a painter of sorts it's irritating to see IRL registrations overwritten arbitrarily. Apart from that(until I discover something else) ~24 is not too bad. It's pretty, on some planes it feels more 'real'. But what do I know. Like, I suspect, the majority on forums such as this, I'm not a real pilot. 😁 The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
