silly question Keven, is it going to be like p3d version where you can import "community" presets for addon aircraft wingviews and cockpit views?

Also can you import views from other similar planes such as 737 6,7,8 or 9 from different devs? This was a wonderful time saving feature when configuring multiple ga planes for example especially as we could use custom names.

Also presume the custom views that the add on dev provides will all be available too by default internal/external?

Multiple views with one button too so we can cycle between say all overhead views with one button and fms /pedestal /pfd with one input also for lesser used views?

I won’t be commenting more on this because everything will be revealed in due time but… This very “feature” is the first thing we got rid of in this new version of CP. It made my blood boil from day 1

We’ve decided to re-code some parts of the app to work better (things like adding support for all F keys and some more quality of life things). As I said before, CP lives at the bounds of the SDK

More news on release date and pricing early next week 😉

Yeah I understand there's a workaround using open track and watched a video on it but strikes me as a lot of F'in around.
Too many issues for me in 2024 still, lack of add-on airliners properly functioning, streaming remains a nightmare, yadda yadda.
In any case I don't want to distract from the topic.

I don’t use open track, I just changed the settings in the xml file and it works fine natively.

Gimbal option for views to keep horizon level. Is there a slider or something to blend this effect to anyone's taste? Meaning if the slider is at 50% the horizon will not be fully level? I hope it's clear what I mean.

Gimbal is on/off but there is a slider for what you are looking for. It’s more like a head/camera roll than a gimbal.

How confident are you that MS or Asobo will 'tolerate' tools like Chaseplane? I mean, there is no API for cameras or views. I guess there must be some unofficial programming methods at play outside the boundaries of the SDK. Are you in contact with them?

Can’t comment on that, but they’re tolerating many tools that are available today.

Yes. This should be done via view groups

@Keven Menard Hi! Let me ask you something:

Currently I use an xbox controller for everything camera/view related, for zoom, walking, drone camera, etc. But there's a side effect of this: If I "look" at any display I get this very distracting white box. (I don't know who thought that was a good idea). This also happened in FS2020 but it was fixed in one of the sim updates, but in fs2024 the problem is back.

Is this something that will happen also with chaseplane?

Didn't know about that one, thx for the suggestions on this from both people who mentioned it.  Of course just trying to start msfs 2024 instantly CTD's now sigh, even a reinstall isn't fixing it.  I'll wait for SU1 and if still no tobii support I'll make sure to try this though.

Yeh I think thats the default way controller users get to know which panel has focus so when you click A or X you can alter parameters. Although.. With pfd displays you can't change anything, maybe it pops out if you press something?

Can you cycle through all the knobs and buttons that way? I guess the sim presumes the controller is active for everything once you start using it not just the views?

Very annoying yes!

There won't be a Tobii fix in SU 1, at least there is none in the Beta until now.

Unfortunately, this in an Asoboism we can't fix. Even if you remove all the control assignments from your Xbox controller, this highlight will always be present. In 2020 you could fix it with a community mod but they locked all of this out in 2024.

I see. Thank you! Hopefully the release isnt that far away

No subscription is the best decision ever. Build trust with your community (I know you already have!), and if your costs start to spiral a year or so down the line, I for one am certain that your users will work with you to keep you in business and profitable. No one wants to lose a top quality developer.

Yeah I don't expect there to be when I looked at the release notes but hopefully it will fix the instant CTD I have at boot so I can at least load the sim and then implement the XML workaround. 🙏

Cheers

I use TrackIR and really don’t care for any of the preset camera views as I never use them nor care to. I just want the physics to be active whilst sitting in the Captains seat. Is this possible without going into a ton of settings?
