Dude, I did not say that, I quoted it.

Pretty obviously.

So @chapstick is replying to the person you quoted, not to you. Pretty obviously.

I read in another thread somewhere that 2024 is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Or did I read it wrong? 😕

Constant CTD when entering "free flight" with this build.

I exited the Beta then reentered the Beta and it is working fine now, so far at least.

It's one bad build in a beta

5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX  9070XT.

Black screen on getting to free flight... the testing continues...

Once this is out of beta i think ill extract myself from beta testing as losing the will to fly lol

Went back to SU2 for now to get the joy back...🤙

Didn't work for me, gone back to su2 for now.

No problems so far flying the FSLabs 321 and, although I don't know if this had been fixed since 1.5.7.0 truth is the EFB now correctly imports flightplan Cruise FL from an FPLN file exported from SimBrief 👍

Did a full LPFR - LPPR flight using default ATC and Real Time Traffic.

All good!

Ah! I did notice that the keyboard key for "Baro Set" doesn't work, at least in the FSLabs 321... and one had to manually set it - no big deal ...

Left my stuttery Gatwick, terrain looked mushy and low res over Sussex and northern France.  Quit and will fire up 2020 over the weekend.

(Not complaining.  I know it's a beta.  But I haven't had one great flight in 2024 yet.  I still try every so often)

Go back to SU2. Like I did. It works like a champ.

Anyone else having issues with the External Drone Camera crashing their plane when using it? There was one bug report so I added to it, but normally many people would contribute if widespread. This update doesn’t appear to have fixed it.

Yes I’ve also experienced this bug and reported it. Apparently if you select the external drone camera from the menu first before using the keyboard shortcut to switch to that view, it won’t crash the aircraft on subsequent use of the keyboard shortcut.

That worked for me as a temporary fix.

Thanks for the workaround!

At 3:00 pm PDT I finally got the chance to log into 2024 and take my dose of beta medicine and to my amazement I did not receive an update.  Then I went to the beta forum and I found the comments to be universally negative.  Some examples from the last 15 minutes lead me to believe this build has been recalled.  Again, from the beta forum,

“I begin to believe they released the wrong build.
All AP functionality is broken. Camera menu freezes. Drone Speed has no effect. ATC window is broken. I guess the list goes on, and no, each of these were not present with the last beta”

and

“Something is wrong here. Up to the mid Beta 3 releases there were improvements, thing got better, but now with the last 2 releases things just go downhill, VRAM management, speed, even as simple things as swapping the radio frequency is not working any more. Please don’t rush it, I was almost ready to celenration that things are better … back to a few swares on the board it seems.”

Finally

“No autopilot this time! Great and it’s the weekend.”

For those of you who received the update, did the standard “update needed” dialog appear for you?  Regardless, glad I dodged that bullet for now.  Blue skies to all,

These issues with double annunciators, non-functioning autopilots etc. apparently affect the default MSFS aircraft. I am currently flying the IFly Max 8 from KMSY to KPHX in 1.5.9.0 and everything is working perfectly - no issues at all.

"I give up, where’s 2020?"

That's quite a statement to make.
Perhaps, in your enthusiasm, you forgot that you were testing a beta?
Or maybe you're just not the person for testing beta's?
