The best Aircraft Addon so far ?

There are now four excellent twins. A600, Piston Duke, C310 and the C414. The last one that I fly is invariably the best.

Funny about the 310.  I've had it in FSX, P3D and now MSFS and I've always enjoyed it.  But when I first flew the BS Piston Duke I said to myself, "self, I doubt you'll ever fly the 310 again".  Myself was wrong.  It's still a fun plane, and fills a niche not really covered by the Duke.  It will probably always have a place in my hangar, be flown and enjoyed even if not in my top 3.

One of these days I should probably try the 414.

Hjet, followed by the pair of Dukes.  After 6 months of testing, and now after release, the FFX C750 deserves a ton of my consideration, just that as a GA enthusiast the learning curve there had a significant upslope.  It will be my go-to for flights of length (time) and distance that the Hjet and Dukes cannot achieve.  On holding short from the so-called tube liners, the FFX C750 provides a lot of immersion and satisfaction.

Not sure at this time what my routine will be come winter, when I have taken an annual Caribbean tour with the likes of the C208 and Kodiak. I may stick around in the USA flying a St Louis Blues hockey game schedule with the Dukes, Hjet, and C750.  The Blues western conference presence presents a lot of longer distance western travel from Missouri.

We each have a basis for how and where we fly.

IF you love old school. It is great. You can go full out. Lots of buttons and things to do. Or you can let the engineer do the work and concentrate on being a pilot. Best of both worlds. Word of caution. Its very different from modern airplanes

Rgr on the Last Ron Thanks.   I had the Captain Sim version back in the day for FSX. Wonder how this one compares to the old school Captain Sim version.  Happy Landings

Only do GA / Bush so:

1) A2A Comanche

2) Cows DA42

3) Cows DA40

Absolutely agree with the addition to the Cows DAs to this list. Brilliant additions, both of them. Their flight model seems to be a lot closer to the mark than just about anything else that size (in terms of how the airframe 'feels' in low-altitude air). And of course difficult to fault the Comanche.

I don't own every add on so my opinion is biased.

Black Square Duke Turbine

After CONSIDERABLE tweaking using fsuipc (power lever beta range I'm talking to you as well as axis slopes to add inertia ) this is now my preferred GA plane. I currently also run p3dv5 as well as 2020 which has a TON of great ga planes (A2A fleet for a start) so the fact I'm even using 2020 for ga says a lot about the Duke. You need to nurse the power and rpm leaving it a little less powerful than it should be but it starts up first time quick and just FLIES.

I still fly the RealAir Turbine in p3dv5. Still a classic and BS did a great job resurrecting this rare plane. I actually prefer the damage model in the RA plane. Why? If you push the engines too hard it will warn you with a nagging red engine monitor readout. If you don't take notice and rectify this quickly within a minute (or much less) you could be out an engine climbing through to cruise. Or two. And that folks is it. You're looking for a glide alternative NOW, no way to repair this bird in flight.

The BS also warns you but you don't care as you can instantly repair your abuse via the radar unit even if engines are blown. Takes away the ANXIETY which I love in the RA plane.

Just Flight Fokker F28.

Initially crippled nav wise with the decision to use the Asobos GPS infected system to run VOR /LOC navigation the latest update has a UNS installed which makes it the vintage plane classic it was always promising to be. Again with fsuipc tweaks the 4000 body has just the right mass and inertia feel on the ground and in the air to suspend belief you are in a sim.

Flysimware Learjet 35a

I own this I both 2020 and P3dv5. Still fly both. My favorite sight seeing plane due to its hand flying abilities and great cabin views it's so FAST to get where I want to as well.

These are the only 3 pulling me back into 2020 these days, the pmdg planes leave me unsatisfied now.

Hows the Fenix in MSFS 2020 these days progress wise?

I never felt a need to buy it..not really into A320s.

For me it works just beautiful ! ( 2020 )

My top 3:

1. Blackbird C130J - this has come a long way since it's initial alpha release, yes there's some bugs still to iron out but it's outstanding value at its price and getting better.

2. Fenix (BFU is just outstanding)

3. FSR500 - I wasn't so keen on the looks of this when Raul said he was going to develop it but it's grown on me massively as I've seen the tremendous effort that's gone into making this a faithful rendition of the real life aircraft.  [I love that Raul goes to lengths that most people may not even realise, and even some line pilots dont realise 🤣]

I have the FSR500. It's a hanger queen.

The aircraft is beautifully modelled, flys wonderfully and Raul is a one man power house who's work ethic, talent and attention to detail is second to none.

The problem is not with the product. It's me!

I just find the aircraft characterless and...anaemic. I suspect the real thing is too.

In my hanger it's got to compete with the SWS PC12, the BlackSquare TBM, the Turbine Duke and the C414. I really like the G1000 suite too so if I want to use that I'll fly lower and slower in the Kodiak and enjoy the scenery.

I forgot to add the SWS PC12 to my list which included the BS Turbine Duke and the BS TBM.  The aircraft I finally shelved was the A2a Comanche. I never could get used to the landing characteristics, and I had flown the Comanche in real life with a friend several times.  I was surprised because I loved all the A2A aircraft I had in P3D, and I had them all.

The Black Square TBM 850 is my favorite single prop GA by far! It's permanently stationed at my Miami Beach Island Home Hangar.

Just enough runway for the 850 to work its magic. Its my little short flight Key West / Caribbean Express hopper

Such a solid addon!

When rating the best, it really needs to be broken into category of plane and preferred type of flying. So for light, single engine, stick and rudder flying, down low and slow or in the bush, the CAS J-3 Cub is top notch. I own almost every decent bush plane published and I have spent more hours in it than any other one. In VR, it’s the closest sensation I get to riding my motorcycle. The other bush plane high on the list is the Blackbird Pilatus PC-6 Porter.

And anything Blacksquare, A2A, Justflight, Flysimware, Taog, and COWS are worth purchasing if it fits your flying style.

A few other honorable mentions:

Big Radials JRF-6 Goose for vintage water ops and the Super Decathlon American Champion for fun aerobatics.

Yup I know that feeling!

VR just adds so much more depth and immersion.

Watching that terrain filled with stereoscopic 3D objects fly past you!🍻

A M E N on the Dirty 30!

and props on a lovely flight through The Loop!

I’ve been letting that one bake thru Alpha, but I thought it was really good (as an Alpha) even right out of the gate. I have to check it out again soon.
only thing I don’t like about it is how different the Lockheed cockpit flow is from everything else. But that’s a “me” problem 🤪

That “sterility” is exactly what makes it one of my favorites. 😁👍

The plane, while definitely a Hi Fi addon, is so simple it just doesn’t get in the way of actually flying. e.g., it’s one of the few planes where there’s as many buttons for lights as there are for the engine! 😂

Only thing that would make me happier is if Raul dropped an FSR 700 Fury on us 😎
